You have hit the nail on the head why Conservatives are the true reasonable ecologists. Conservatives combine cost saving, and ecology saving, and always have. You are English Frugal, and could teach the overspending, slobs in the radical environmental movement a few things. Look at anyplace they gather, there is waste and debris they leave for someone else to clean up. I am Irish and English frugal, and I recycle like you do, it is cost effective, and less mess to clean up.

All he has to do is ask Senator Feinstein if she ever noticed any rats or other problems when she visitied the facility to see her constituents who might have been at the hospital while she was on the the Veterans Affairs Subcommittee. Everyone knows there were no wars, natural disasters, poor, homeless, or deteriorating conditions in federal buildings before January 20, 2001.

Very true. Unfortunately in these days of all things being visual the one thing that would show this more than ever has not been done.
Most high level meetings at the White House including those with visiting Presidents, Prime Ministers etc include the VP but before the photo op he leaves the room. I hope though this is documented for the future to show the public and future Presidents how team work is important in the modern era more so that ever before. The load President is expected to carry these days cannot be done without informed team members and what better way of doing this than having your Vice President in most of the meetings.
The sense of this showed recently in the long overseas trip the VP did it was not just shaking hands across the water he was delivering real messages to high level members of foreign governments.

Wallace asked Hoekstra and Feinstein for a comment about Walter Reed as his last [throwaway] question.
Hoekstra gave boilerplate [my translation: he has no clue of any facts of the situation]
Feinstein mumbled ordinary accusations, and Wallace never mentioned her previous appointment to the Veterans Committee.

I agree with you and would add Donald Rumsfeld to mentions of Bush and Chaney. The transformation of our military had been long overdue and their effectiveness today has gone through the roof compared to our military of the past.
To: anita
History should show that team to be more than great because they not only had to lead the War on terrorism, they had to fight off the Rat Party cut and runner, defeatists throwing up roadblocks for the last three years straight. If they (rats) believed in a higher being, they would be running for cover with both hands above their heads trying to block the lightning bolts of punishment they so justly deserve.

Why do conservatives not like him?I think it's because he carries whatever water he is told to carry. He talks good, and you are right, he is doing a very good job with Fatso. But he has also argued that, if we are nice to captured terrorists, they will be nice if they capture our guys. He is verbally agile, but he has no consistent core, no holy ground.

Here in South Carolina - Graham is known (by some) as all talk
and no punch.
He can talk the talk - but he fails to really battle the "opposition" when push come to shove.
That's part of his problem.
To: Bahbah
Thanks for your clarification. Have to watch him more.

Good point, samantha. I went to Dan's Bake Sale in Ft. Collins years ago and the city was amazed how well it went and how everyone cleaned up after themselves when it was over.
To: maica
Expecting an US Senator to actually perform a job with a level of diligence is apparently beyond the media's thought process.
Sounds like the servicemen who end up at Walter Reed better either make large campaign contributions to members of Congress, or spend large amounts on lobbyists who can hand off the cash directly, in order to get somebody's attention.
And, maybe, term limits should start with media types who need to get outside the Beltway, before we can expect to see some positive action from the politicians.

Exactly, snugs. When Prez sends VP, mission might be important & not leaked to press. Before Iraq operation, Cheney was sent to several middle east countries. Press travelled with him described that his mission was failure and any everybody was against action on Iraq before Palestinian problem solved. History showed otherwise.
Same happened now. There was some press jubilation over VP offering background briefings, as if public cares about it. They NEVER git it.

I would bet cash money that liberal areas of my city have far more trash, weeds, and general waste than conservative areas. Furthermore, I would bet that the fuel used by greenie college agers going on spring break far exceeds the amount spent by working people going on family vacations.
Don't get me started!
