CPAC-2007 is off to a great start! Tony Snow, David Keene, and a host of notable conservative policy masters greeted us earlybirds warmly.
This CPAC promises to be even better than ever.
Disappointed with Tony Snow's cheerleading speech long on platitudes and short on specifics. No mention made of the coming senate bill on comprehensive immigration reform and how the WH is going to deal with a Dem congress.
Agree that McConnell was the star of the show today. He essentially said that he had at least 41 Reps who were going to stop any bad bill from coming out of the Senate.
Rep. Jeb Hensarling seems like a clean cut, articulate guy, but he wears his religion on his sleeve. Should be a big day tomorrow and a long one. Laura Ingraham is the MC for the RR banquet. Here's hoping they have decent food.
Congratulations for your new family addition! We had a little bitty infant at the next table during the banquet tonight.
George Allen had the same scenario last year...don't know if that's an omen.
There were some great points addressed during the debate. Particularly that two large Muslim nations function as successful democracies.
CG, I know Barbara was a friend of yours; I wish I could apologize enough to you to make up for the trash you've had to read about the Olsons on these threads.
Please stop spamming this thread with items posted to multiple threads. Thanks!
Exactly. Dinesh's point was that some people are saying that Islam is incompatible with democracy, yet most Muslims live in democracies, including Indonesia, the largest Muslim country and India with the second largest muslim population, and Bangladesh.
and Turkey
What? The CPACs are suppose to be a live thread. How am I to know who is checking which thread at CPAC????
Is that Saturday?
I won't be at Walter Reed this Friday, but I intend to make it up to y'all in a couple of weeks.
bttt
Does CPAC go into Saturday? If so, I posted incorrectly.
But if you are up early Satuday, 20 minutes up Georgia Avenue from the D.C. line, the Olney Freep is going strong.
We start around 10AM and go till about 11:45AM.
Either way, see you at WR in two weeks.

Thanks so much for the updates from CPAC! Was really hoping to see Hunter's speech carried on C-SPAN, but he is not listed on the schedule.
Thanks for the ping!
Great photos.....and I'm happy to say that I'm a friend of the lovely lady pictured in this post.
Frances Rice, Chairman of the National Black Republicans Association.....
Tee Hee...it is a matter of timing, I guess. Given the contractions I'm enjoying at the moment, I figured if I went we might just add a little one to the table during dinner....or perhaps dessert! :)
Actually Barbara loved a good fight. :)
Thank you for the kind words, H. It is still incredibly hard to believe that she is gone. I think the most interesting assumptions about her have arisen that show a deep misunderstanding of exactly the type of folks that Ted and Barbara are/were. Ted is incredibly loyal to his friends both personally and professionally.
Now I have no idea what Barbara would do in this case, actually. I think that similar to Ted, her support would go to Rudy because of friendship, but I find it an interesting misunderstanding of exactly what an individual she was. It is entirely plausible to me that they might not support the same candidate. But again, she, like Ted, was incredibly loyal to personal friends.
Also, I should say that I don't have a dog in the presidential fight yet....but when speculation gets wild about friends of mine like Barbara, I feel an obligation to jump in and defend her honor. Particularly since she can no longer do it herself.
So....no worries. I just want to make certain the record is straight about her....heaven knows there are enough radical leftists out there who are still trying their darndest destroy her even to this day.
Yep; we surely don't need uninformed Freepers posting things that aren't true.
BTW, my niece is being induced at Fairfax as we type; GET GOING!
Awesome news! I'll be delivering there too. Great hospital.
It is the third c-section for me so they aren't wild about the contractions going on. Believe me, I'd be perfectly happy to have them take her out today with a tuning fork through my left nostril....but, sigh, they are insisting on Tuesday. (she might have other ideas, of course...;) )
Prayers for a smooth delivery for your niece -- what exciting news!
