Christopher Horner Slams Al Gore and Global Warmingists on ‘Fox and Friends’
NewsBusters ^ | 2/14/2007 | Noel Sheppard

Posted on 02/15/2007 5:27:37 AM PST by AT7Saluki

Horner then made an interesting historical climate observation that has conveniently eluded all the global warming alarmists and their devotees:

Obviously, they’re the ones overreacting because it’s very simple. We admit climate change, and that’s what they deny. Climate changes – it always has, it always will. The Vikings used to farm Greenland, and if we get two degrees Celsius warmer they may again.

Next, Horner went after Al Gore:

[G]laciers are melting all over the world. Glaciers are growing all over the world. The problem is…and also glaciers are receding by growing which is in Al Gore’s movie. When they grow too far – grow is the key word -- they break off. That's not melting he shows, that's called calving. But what happens is they say melting glaciers is proof of global warming. By that logic, for lack of a better word, receding glaciers is proof of global cooling. They can't both be true and in fact neither are.

Has anyone tried to refute this book or is the media and scientific community just ignoring it?

They just dismiss it as fiction - written by a novelist, after all. If Al Gore himself said he has learned that global warming has nothing to do with human activity, the Hive would turn on him and accuse him of being bought off by Big Oil.

Green is the new Red, and they aren't going to let go of it easily.

Isn't GW still a theory?
No, it's now a "Consensus"

Well, if you drop the second syllable, that's correct.

No, it's now a "Consensus"

Which gives it the full weight of Truth to the fawning Drive-by Media and to the crowd of "researchers" addicted to Federal funding and looking hungrily for their next fix. The whole spectacle reminds me of nothing so much as the "Witch" scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. So if she weighs as much as a duck, she must be made of.....wood. And therefore....

I read Michael Crichton's "State of Fear" and it seemed to be well researched and just devestating to the man made global warming arguments. Has anyone tried to refute this book or is the media and scientific community just ignoring it?

Michael Crichton is one of the Global Warming Alarmist crowd's most hated persons. I have read some of the web sites that push global warming, and they deride him to no end. I like him. I often post a lecture that he gave to CalTech in 2003 where he discusses a long history of science prostituting itself for politcal gain, and of junk science. If you're interested, read this: (don't be deterred by the weird title, it is sarcasm) "Aliens Caused Global Warming". It is a really good, but long, read.

No, it's now a "Consensus"

The Michael Crichton lecture that I linked to in an earlier posts addresses so-called "consensus". Here is a quote from his lecture:

I want to pause here and talk about this notion of consensus, and the rise of what has been called consensus science. I regard consensus science as an extremely pernicious development that ought to be stopped cold in its tracks. Historically, the claim of consensus has been the first refuge of scoundrels; it is a way to avoid debate by claiming that the matter is already settled. Whenever you hear the consensus of scientists agrees on something or other, reach for your wallet, because you're being had.

Yep. And 2 + 2 = 4. And the sun rises in the east. It should be that obvious to everyone. When their sacred document - the Kyoto Protocol - places no restrictions on China, it's obvious their goal is socialism, not environmentalism.

He just was a guest on our local morning talk show on WIBC with Greg Garrison this morning. He is on that show once a week or so, and I really like to listen to him.

The point of the book is that the global warming stuff is hype and the purpose of it is to confiscate wealth and control personal behavior.

One of the most interesting facts he brought up (and one I didn't know) is that Russia, because of it's economic problems, closed thousands (yes, thousands) of weather montoring stations throughout their country, and the lack of those stations being included in the world average of temps has skewed the results.

You're right, it should be obvious, but there are an astounding number of people who buy into the global warming lie with no hesitation whatsoever.

That's frightening.

Christopher C. Horner

Biography

Christopher C. Horner serves as a Senior Fellow at CEI, in which capacity he oversees petitions and litigation on topics including data access and quality laws, the Freedom of Information Act, and government science and agency statutory compliance, and other legal matters involving environment and energy issues, international environmental treaties, and climate policy. He is also the author of "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming and Environmentalism" (Regnery, 2007).

A practicing attorney in Washington, D.C., Mr. Horner works on a legal and policy level with numerous think tanks and policy organizations throughout the world. He frequently speaks before industry and academic audiences, and has written on numerous topics in publications ranging from law reviews to legal and industrial trade journals to print and online opinion pages. He has testified before the United States Senate Committees on Foreign Relations and Environment and Public Works, given numerous addresses in the European Parliament in Strasbourg and Brussels and before policymakers in numerous capitals including London, Rome, Copenhagen, Madrid and Warsaw. As a result of these efforts to educate the public, Greenpeace has repeatedly targeted Mr. Horner, by stealing his garbage on a weekly basis, issuing press releases announcing with whom he is seen in the same room and including him in various other hysterical publications including most recently "A Field Guide to Climate Criminals" distributed at the UN climate meeting in Montreal in December 2005. Also in 2005, Cristina Narbona, Spain's Socialist Environment Minister, referred to Horner as "the devil" for demonstrating to audiences in Spain and other European Union nations how Europe is failing to meet its obligations under the Kyoto Protocol and why Europeans should abandon the doomed process.

Mr. Horner has provided legal, policy and political commentary several hundred times each on both television and radio, in the United States, Europe, Canada, and Australia, including scores of visits each on the Fox News Channel, Court TV, MSNBC with repeat visits on The News Hour with Jim Lehrer, BBC, CNN, CNN International, ITN, CBC, Bloomberg and Reuters Television. Mr. Horner has guest hosted television commentary programs and makes weekly appearances on and regularly guest hosts nationally and regionally syndicated radio shows in America. He has been a frequent contributor in the Washington Times, National Review Online and TechCentralStation.com opinion pages, is a guest columnist for United Press International and OpinionEditorials.com, and has regularly contributed to the legislative news magazine EU Reporter (Brussels).

He received his Juris Doctorate from Washington University in St. Louis where he received the Judge Samuel Breckenridge Award for Advocacy.

"Methinks the whole GW charade is what's beginning to melt."

Lets hope that Prince Albert, inventor of the internet, world famous climatologist, and divinity school flunky (oops)will start to melt.
Thank GOD, the great people from my state of Tennessee, gave the finger to this clown.
