He's Ready If You Are (Rudy Giuliani)

Rudy Giuliani will prevent a conservative crack-up.
Today, after very little effort, Giuliani is the frontrunner for the Republican nomination. Dick Morris is predicting a Giuliani vs. Clinton race in 2008. Yet some conservatives are dubious of the man who cleaned up New York, returned it to a vigor unimaginable from the 1960s through the 1980s, and then led New York and the country heroically through 9/11. Well, one knows a politician by the company he keeps, and Giuliani has around him the financial people who created the libertarian-conservative Manhattan Institute. He relied heavily on the Institute's policies while governing New York. He will rely on libertarian-conservative policy makers in his race for the White House and once there.

Giuliani's history of sincerity to the vows of marriage tells me all I need to know of what the oath of office to the presidency would mean, absolutely nothing! Bill Clinton, Newt Gingrich and Rudy Giuliani are men that oaths and vows hold no meaning for.
To: B Knotts
What is worse, Rudy's support of strict gun laws, or Newt's embracing Hillary and socialized medicine?

I'm racking that up to the Dean ScreamThe Shriek Heard Round the World only happened after a loss in the Iowa Caucuses. Dean's support wasn't nearly as broad as the polls indicated.

Definitely not Rudy, Mitt nor John McCain. Guiliani tried at the senatorial level but backed out because of prostate cancer(?). Also, didn't one of his cronies get connected to the mob? He's not presidential material.

As far as I know Hillary Clinton, Barak Obama, Al Gore, Howard Dean and are all married to their first spouses..so it that's so important to you...go vote for them. Think about how absurd you are.

Republicans could do much worse than get behind Rudy Giuliani for President. He has been making all the right sounds and taking the generally accepted patriotic positions, but the huge sticking point is going to be whatever light can be thrown on his personal life.
And he will be clubbed harder for this than Mitt Romney will be for being a Mormon.
People who are that concerned about Rudy's personal life always have the option of voting for Herself, the Cold and Joyless.

IF it came down to Hitlery vs. Rudy, of course I'd vote Rudy. That's what it comes down to for me, too : Anyone but HRC or Obama.
To: PhiKapMom
Interestingly enough, I got to read the entire story about Chris Matthews vulgar comments on with Imus yesterday morning. He was praising Rudy, big time. Said we need a city guy to be president.

He's not presidential material. Rudy's not my first choice, but if he's the Republican nominee, he's getting my vote. He's already said he'd appoint judges in the mold of Scalia, Alito & Roberts. Noticed that you failed to answer my question...that's because right now there is no one else that can beat Hillary. If you disagree, here's your chance to tell me who can beat her...take all the space you need...

Maybe a Rudy/Newt or Newt/Rudy ticket combination would unite the Republican/Conservative party. Or, for a real wild card, throw Walter Williams into the combination matrix and fanticize the outcomes.

So we can assume you never supported Ronald Reagan?

Yes. If Bush had picked a younger dynamic VP, we would have a viable candidate now. He did not do the party any favors in picking Cheney, much as I love him.

How interesting your post indicates only Democrats have any real respect for the institution of marriage, the bedrock of the family and therefore our nation. It's not so. This will become more apparent as campaign moves forward. It will be only a matter of time before a campaign of another Republican candidate makes issue of this. Bet on it! And bet too that it will end Giuliani's bid.
