No commercial that appeared last night during Super Bowl XLI directly addressed Iraq, unlike a patriotic spot for Budweiser beer that ran during the game two years ago. But the ongoing war seemed to linger just below the surface of many of this years commercials.
More than a dozen spots celebrated violence in an exaggerated, cartoonlike vein that was intended to be humorous, but often came across as cruel or callous.

If the war in Iraq is to blame, it's been going on a long time.

What gets me about this is how the NY Times believes everything is about the war.
CRAZY!

Interesting note: This article was posted last night on NYTimes, while the game was still going on, with todays date on it.

Didn't you read the article?
It was so obvious that the robot jumped off a bridge because of the war. Anyone can see that. /sarc
For crying out loud! NYT cannot be serious about this.

If the war in Iraq is to blame, it's been going on a long time. You can say that again......

This is a grand example of how group psychosis is affecting rationality.
These fools are so self contained in their liberal echo chamber at the NYT, they seem to really believe this poop. I can't believe that anyone could write something so absurd without belief.
There's got to be a limit to what a sane individual can say with a straight face... Isn't there?

but when the poor robot was reduced to working in a fast food joint, the restaurante association didn't get their panites in a wad like some "other" commercial.
I, for one, was glad it was just a dream.

Why do I get the idea that someone named 'Stewart', writing for the New York Times, would find a lot of things 'rough'? Although I bet deep in his limp wrist hart, he yearns for a little locker room domination, with him with a pom-pom in each hand.
Anyways, none of the bi-costal, so called elites play football, or hockey, much preferring soccer and cross country, if they are not already fascinated, fascinated by modern dance at a young and tender age.
Just another dig against working class culture and the success of the NFL in the popular marketplace. Drives the the lefties mad with envy.

Agree, the Snickers ad should have been two women.

The NYT is a pitiful, yellow rag not fit to line the bottom of a bird cage. What a bunch of disgusting, self-absorbed pukes. Journalists?? Not hardly!! Merely dark shadows of what used to be a noble profession in a previous age. Sad.
