More voters say they would be comfortable with former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani as president than other top 2008 contenders, though majorities would also be comfortable with other leaders from both parties, according to the latest FOX News Poll. In addition, of all the 2008 hopefuls announced or frequently mentioned as a possibility voters want to hear more from one candidate specifically: Illinois Sen. Barack Obama.
Opinion Dynamics Corporation conducted the national telephone poll of 900 registered voters for FOX News from January 30 to January 31. The poll has a 3-point error margin.

One very positive aspect of Rudy getting the nod is he wont be after the crowd that believes in this crapolaI'm not too worried about that. I'd post a picture of a murdered preborn child, but I think it would be removed.

Rudy is a fiscal, domestic, and foreign policy conservative that supports strict constructionist judges. It remains unproven that he will appoint "strict constructionist" judges.

I just don't understand why you would want someone first in line of succession if you don't want that person as President. Its happened 9 times in our history already.

Actually, we should elect the most electable candidate. To paraphrase William Buckley, "I'm for the most conservative candidate that has the best chance of winning." Me too. So let's get together and all get behind an actual Republican, somewhat conservative candidate instead of Giuliani who bareley qualifies under either description. There's better candidates and this far away from the actual election nearly all of them are electable.

Chances are he won't be invited to do anything like this when he's President. Lighten up...Ronald Reagan talked to monkeys.

I wouldn't vote for Cheney because I know he would lose. I vote for Bush/Cheney twice. What exactly is your question?

[ You're being extremely unrealistic if you believe that. ]
Believeing that Rudy can be elected is gross denial.. or delusion..
RINOs do love him true.. the republican base is fragmenting even further.. I think a broad republican base has had it with the Bob "welfare pimp" Doles And Rinos like Bush Sr. and Jr.. not to speak of Jeb.. Not all republicans to be sure but a lot of them are coming out of denial.. and delusion..
The reality of many elected BIG Government Republicans have freaked most of us out..
Newt can possible herd the cats to attack the Dogocrats..
LITERALLY NONE ELSE CAN..

You just acknowledged that Rudy is a fiscal, domestic, and foreign policy conservative. I don't see how that is "barely" a conservative. Also, what is an "actual Republican". Oh, I forgot, 100% of Republicans agree 100% of the time(sarcasm)
"There's better candidates and this far away from the actual election nearly all of them are electable."
Actually, I think Giuliani and McCain are our only electable Republicans.

I think the early speculation is generally absurd. I am very 'light' on this subject. I am generally wary of the MSM's 'chosen one' ,it happens to be Rudy this month. I'll remain skeptical.

..Jim, because flame wars can be very educational--sans the ad hominem attacks
It gives everyone a chance to work out their thoughts and develop a position, one way or the other.
Buckle up, the next few months on FR will be interesting...

My question is, why would you want someone that you find unacceptable as President to be Vice President, know that the Vice President could become President at literally any time.
