Ann Coulter analyzes GOP Presidential hopefuls:

---Rudy Giuliani:

"I Think He's The Only Republican Who Can't Beat Hillary."

"I don't see him winning the Primary."

"If you can't get MY vote as a Republican against Hillary....."

---John McCain:

"Not a Conservative, but a patriot."

"A genuine war hero, unlike John Kerry."

"His weaknesses are half of his positions."

---Mitt Romney:

"Red stater in a blue state."

"Has a working knowledge of God."

---Newt Gingrich:

"Absolutely brilliant."

"His closet has certainly been thoroughly investigated already."

"I wish we could bring him in to pinch-hit for all presidential debates."

You have a point there on the moderates but I hope you're wrong about Rudy should he be elected.

The final Gallup poll was 48-46...over the summer Rudy and Hillary were in a toss up...Hillary was rarely if ever over 50%

All of that is besidees the point...even lets say Rusy would have lost in NY to Hillary by 5, how would that translate nationally??? No one thinks Rudy beats Hillary in NY for Prez, but he would probably pick up ME, NH, CT, NJ...Even if you take Lazio's 46% and translate it nationally, even Lazio beats Hillary

Easy TomGuy, I'm not quarreling with our method of voting, etc., but I don't have to like the inane "principled," "no vote to send a message" crowd. Based on your reaction I assume you're one of those?

Since Hillary is just Giuliani in a crusty, black pantsuit, what victory do we get in this Kobayashi Maru scenario?

Exactly! I am one of those 'political conservatives' that is part of the base and cannot understand the stand of 'social conservatives' here with their my way or no way I am not voting stance! I posted the Contract With America on here recently to show that it wasn't about social issues at all -- it was all about Government.

We cannot afford in 08 to have them dictate our candidate or we are doomed IMHO.

I could care less how many times Newt was married but while he was going after Clinton on the Monica deal he was having an affair and then resigned as Speaker of the House. Apples and oranges. He let the Republicans down when he resigned as Speaker.

Even then my deal breaker is going in with Ms. Clinton on healthcare.

Hi:

Agreed, completely.

This might be the end of the R party's majority status for some time to come. The Socials have completelyl lost track of what got them here -- the Contract with America.

Rudy would pick up Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania if he runs against Hillary.

Electoral Vote Tally would be:

Giuliani 337
Hillary 201

If Hillary picks up New Mexico and Arkansas, the Electoral College vote would still be:

Giuliani 326
Hillary 212

But I don't think she'd pick up Arkansas.

I don't have to like the inane "principled," "no vote to send a message" crowd.

Call it what you will, you still want to deny the voter the priviledge -- unless they vote the way you want.

I assume that you would like to be the one distributing the kool-aid.

For me, every vote, just like every non-vote, sends a message. I may not always like the message, but as long as The US Constitution is still valid, every voter has the right to cast (or not cast) their vote the way they want.

I know -- it is like watching a speeding train wreck.

That's why I think we have been losing so many Governorships like in OK and other places. Social conservatives gave us the OK candidate for Governor in 2006 and he got beat almost 2-1 in a state that was 100% red for Pres Bush.

We have groomed no candidates from the conservative side that can win because of the litmus test these social conservatives require. No one but someone far right without charisma stands a chance with them. To win a nationwide race, IMO, you have to be a leader, have charisma, and be a speaker that gets their message across to the average person. Except for Rudy, I don't see that and social conservatives hate him. Rudy is the only one I have heard speak in person that has the WOW factor.

I have eaten enough rubber chicken and heard enough speeches to know the difference. When you tune out less than 10 minutes into a speech, there is a problem because the message is lost. When Brownback spoke I kept thinking he is never going to end for an example.

I'm tired of the plethora of lousy candidates that leave us the choice between the devil and the deep blue sea.

There's at least one good candidate...
