A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

The Mayor posted this link below for us on this past Friday's thread. It is so very special, I thought, if anyone missed his post, they could enjoy seeing this today.
Video Clip ~ Akiane
Akiane was born on July 9, 1994, in Mount Morris, Illinois, to the atheistic stay-at-home Lithuanian homemaker mother. Akiane is an artistic child prodigy, artist and poet. She started drawing at age4 and painting at age 6. Akiane says her inspiration comes from above.
I want my art to draw people's attention to God, I want my poetry to keep people's attention to God.- Akiane
When young Akiane's special gift was discovered, not much time passed before the humble 10-year-old was featured on Oprah, CNN, and other national media programs. Akiane began working in pastels when she was 5, and completed her first painting at 7.
"I wake up after I have had many dreams. I wake up and I pray, and then I see visions and I explain all those to my mom, and I say, 'This is what I want to paint.' And my mom says, 'I'll give you a canvass so you can paint it.'"From her dreams Akiane began to compose what she calls the "Jesus" paintings, which took her more than 75 hours to complete. She has so far painted two oils of Jesus. She calls the first one "The Prince of Peace," and the second is titled "Forgive Them, Father."
When asked how she knows that it's God who is speaking to her, she replies, "Because I can hear His voice. His voice is quiet and beautiful." Although she was 3 at the time, she'll always remember God's first message to her. "He said, 'You have to do this, and I'll help you.' He said, 'Now you can help people.' I said, 'Yes, I will.' But I said it in different words in my mind. I speak through my mind to Him."
Here are a few links for more information and to view Akiane's work.
This link takes you to the website which has Akiane's art work and when viewing the pictures in the gallery, you can read her poems. Akiane.com

It's good you had meds. I hope you feel better. You have a lot of snow. It's cold here. They said snow but it's probably not likely. I'd like one snow this season.

That garden path is beautiful. It is photoshopped, must be. Thanks for sharing.
It's nice thinking of green growing things in New England in January.

Claiming Responsibility
READ:
Isaiah 53:1-10He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities. Isaiah 53:5
As images of burning rubble and frantic people flash on the TV screen, a reporter says, A terrorist organization has claimed responsibility for last nights bombing that left 23 dead and scores injured. It was not a random act of violence but one that was calculated to frighten people and advance the agenda of those who stepped forward to say, We did it.
In stark contrast, one of historys most brutal acts was intended to bring peace and healing, not fear. In addition, God claimed responsibility in the prophecy of Isaiah, seven centuries before it happened. The prophet foretold the death of the Messiah in these words: He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. . . . Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief (Isa. 53:5,10).
Just before Jesus Christ was crucified, He said, No one takes [My life] from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. . . . This command I have received from My Father (John 10:18). Jesus died willingly for our sin so that we might live through faith in Him.
God claimed responsibility for the death of His Son, allowing anyone to claim His gift of forgiveness.
When Jesus died upon the cross
He took our sin and shame;
He offers us His righteousness,
A gift that we must claim. Sper
The search for forgiveness ends when we find Christ.
