Speaking of lively weekends, any Freepers who haven't given up yet are welcome to join us at our Winter Patriots gathering in D.C. the weekend after this on January 27. There'll be a tens of thousands of moonbats and and a few dozen of us patriots.
Of course not MO1, why bother with the bitter reality.
Some might say you're kicking a stump! LOL ;-)
You've certainly caught a few interesting ones.
No doubt about it.
Kurdistan is also providing refuge for the PKK.
1) They do. 2) And they might not "care what the pontificating idiots say," but they know that it is making their job harder (and more dangerous) to do. And I'll bet they wish the "pontificating idiots" would shut the hell up and get behind them and their mission.
Complete victory is the destruction of AL Qaeda in Iraq and hence its destruction around the world. It is the destruction of Iran and Syria terrorists in Iraq and hence a huge fatal blow for both the Iranian and Syrian terrorist regime. When terrorism is defeatist in Iraq it will be defeated everywhere else. That is the complete victory.
Marvelous. You can be proud.
Now remember one of the things you were fighting for -- our First Amendment right to freely speak and petition the government.
I, too, heartily supported the war. But I got off the bus when I realized that (a) the Iraqis haven't demonstrated the commitment to control their own country, (b) the Iraqis (Kurds excepted) generally hate our guts and will despise us after we're gone, (c) the Iraqi army units are rife with corruption from top to bottom and therefore lack the basic integrity to establish a just and secure society, and (d) when our troops are being made to take off their boots before entering mosques to find snipers within -- instead of blowing the freakin' place sky high --we lack the ruthlessness to win this war.
If we are going to fight the war, then let's fight it to win for heaven's sake. If that means leveling entire blocks of Baghdad and raining holy hell on the insurgents, then so be it. If it means destroying the Iranian Navy in a single day as a warning against misbehavior in Iraq and elsewhere, then so be it. But please count me out of this hearts-and-minds BS that worked so "wonderfully" in 'Nam.
I sure wish I could come...I hate that I miss so much stuff going on in the DC area.
You guys do such a GREAT job of representing a lot of us on FR...and I know I don't thank you all often enough...but I always appreciate it.
True, but I need to point out that this is exactly what the libs say.
I'm sure you'd acknowledge that loud cries against the war make the terrorists feel that they just have to hold out a little longer and we'll turn tail and run. If that isn't giving aid and comfort to the enemy, I don't know what is.
If the American people allow the libs to pull us out of Iraq before we are through, then the American people deserve the onslaught of terrorist attacks that will likely come. They deserve to lose any hope of stopping Iran and every other radical Islamic state from developing WMD.
Sad part is, it won't just be the ones who wanted to pull out that will suffer for it.
LOL.... the day is still young :)
>> When Al Qaeda terrorists, or the terrorist regimes in Iran and Syria, or the Iraqi insurgent terrorists whether they are Sunnis or Shia hear the speeches of defeatism coming from liberals and their media, or unfortunately coming from some conservatives who some of them are right here on Free Republic, will they feel comforted and aided by these speeches? Of course they will be comforted, and they will be embolden to fight more and more, kill more and more, destroy more and more, because they realize that many Americans do not have the will to fight a long and hard war. <<
You think AQ or the Muslim Brotherhood is monitoring Free Republic?
LOL...sometimes kicking a stump feels like just the right thing to do!!
You miss my point.
From Reuters today:
Turkey on Thursday welcomed a raid by U.S. and Iraqi forces on a refugee camp of Turkish Kurds in northern Iraq as a first step towards combating Kurdish rebels, but insisted the camp must be shut down.
Iraqi and U.S. troops conducted a search operation on Wednesday at the Makhmur refugee camp in northern Iraq, which Ankara has long argued provides a safe haven for militants from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).
Looks like the situation is being addressed.
HOOAH
100% true.
