LONDON – A Christian airline stewardess is planning to challenge a ruling by a British airline that prohibits staff from traveling to Saudi Arabia with a Bible.
Journalist Claire Bergen, writing for the Independent Catholic News website, said, "BMI, formerly British Midland Airways, confirmed that the matter is now subject to an industrial tribunal due to take place in the New Year."
She went on to say, "The stewardess, a committed Christian, likes to take her Bible, which was once her mother's, with her when she travels.
"But BMI says it has banned her from taking the Bible with her in accordance with Foreign Office advice that no non-Islamic materials or artifacts are allowed in Saudi Arabia."

I had no idea about that with the Saudis. More tyranny of Islam revealed, and of course the Muzzies have no problem demanding their own prayer room in an airport in a foreign country.

It's also a challenge to get Bibles out to troops stationed in the Middle East, and many who want Bibles can't get them. Operation Gratitude cannot include gifts of Bibles in their care packages to soldiers. However, I have found a source that will take Bibles and get them to troops.

Really? Saudis are the worst of the worst. There is more religious freedom for Christians in Pakistan, Iran, or maybe even Syria than there is in Saudi Arabia. Probably the same is true about the Jewish religion as well.
She'd better carry some other Bible with her, if she wants to, because if caught with one in Saudi Arabia, they simply rip it in shreds into a bin, in front of the owner.
I would not want that to happen to something that has great personal value, such as her mother's Bible.
Saudis are the ones who have converted near-100% of all Wahabbis, with their petrodollars.
I think we should mirror the policies of all countries that we deal with. We just ban their religion over here, and call it even.

A bit overstated don't you think? We have antisemitism and bigotry in the U.S. too, but God's mercy and grace have not been withdrawn.

Yes, it just amazes me that people, uh make that FReepers, I expect them to have a higher level of awareness and concern, don't even care that their petrodollars are funding Wahabbism worldwide big time. They should be pressing their governments hard to get weaned off of Saudi oil, and making personal choices along those same lines as well by supporting alternative fuel usage.
