FOX also reported that the Iraqi gov is seeking permission to execute him on a holiday. My guess, if that answer comes back in the affirmative, the transfer and execution will take place. If not, he will remain in US custody until after the holiday (and maybe Sunday).

They don't want responsibility for guarding him for up to 48 hours.

Don't be too hard on Fox. They interviewed Saddam's attorney and he confirmed the transfer.

I am constantly amazed about the concern people have about putting this tyrant to death. I guess we can invade the country, take down Saddam and his government and armed forces, kill thousands of insurgents and Baathists, but executing Saddam will make them really, really, really mad. LOL. Let the insurgent bastards react and suffer the consequences.

More than likely, there will be celebrating in the streets throughout Iraq. And most on the Arab street would love to see their unelected leaders suffer a similar fate.
