Arianna Huffington really needs to rethink access to her blog. Lately, the nonsensical ravings of her guests would be much more appropriate at Daily Kos than the Huffington Post.
This abomination by actor Alec Baldwin is a perfect example. On the day America learned it had lost one of the classiest people to ever represent our country at the United Nations, Baldwin chose to disparage her in a way that either questioned her femininity, or insinuated she was a warmonger:
I heard William Bennett on CNN, eulogizing Jean [sic] Kirkpatrick. He referred to her as the GOP's Thatcher and called her "our Iron Lady." What is it about these people that they can never talk of peace? (Even their women have to come across like Vince Lombardi.)
How thoroughly disgraceful. Huffington should either request Baldwin apologize for this detritus, or do it herself.
Yet, that wasnt Baldwins only absurdity (emphasis mine):
There is a way to defeat terrorism while building new and better alliances in the Arab world. It will be an enormously complex and difficult diplomatic puzzle. But the first step might be oddly simple. Get rid of the CIA, which has outlived its usefulness and is an embarrassment to this great country, and rebuild and reform US intelligence capabilities to fight this new type of threat. I think our hopes must begin there.
Imagine that. According to this genius, getting rid of the nations foremost intelligence agency will defeat terrorism. He must also think we could reduce the crime rate by eliminating police officers.
Welcome to enlightened, liberal elite thinking, ladies and gentlemen, brought to you on a daily basis by the editors of the Huffington Post. Arianna must be very proud.
Next, mental case Baldwin, will announce his candidacy for potus. His(Balwin's) mantra: "jihadanazi's and islamerthals will LOVE me".
:-(
Come on. I was getting ready to eat my Sunday afternoon dinner.
has anybody ever tracked down that scandal ?
chcekd snopes: has never heard any details of it
I agree he's ignorant, etc. I would guess he's not bright enough to come up with such an absurd idea. I'm guessing he's heard it on the democrat cocktail circuit.
Why do these trained monkeys believe that they are possessed of any thought which is of higher value than anything which some script writer has provided them to elucidate?
Getting rid of the CIA and then replacing it is kind of like divorcing your wife and then remarrying her. It is not like you're going to replace the CIA with the FDA. You simply will wind up rehiring all the same experienced employees to run the next intelligence agency. What's the point if you are back where you started? Alec, you're a moron.
After her fling with the entertainer formerly known as Prince, who cares what she thinks!
Some wife beating loser.
I think they have meeting once a week in some dark slimy room in Hollywood to see who can come up with the stupidest things to say to the press...They have to understand there are more than ignorant democrats in this country so they really need to check what they say before opening their traps.
"My credentials? Unlike Jeane Kirkpatrick,
I played a CIA analyst in a movie, and ...
I have my indomitable Thinky Hat."
Go, Dick! Go! :)
This thing they call 'man' (which I doubt considering men have 3 things, 2 of which he is missing) hasn't got enough class to be a pimple on Jean's A$$....
He's starting to fatten up, and is looking more and more like Al oGre every time I see him!
I doubt he misses any meals.
Beady-eyed hedgehog. He's Ron Jeremy without the acting talent.
What I find interesting is that in the 90's, there was a MSM push (a minor one) to disband the CIA. In the context of the Church neutering and after the Guatemala episode, MSM couldn't figure out what a post Cold War CIA was supposed to do. So there were cover stories such as "Is the CIA really necessary?"
And then we had Maxine Waters whipping up ignorant blacks and rabid lefty whites with the bogus "CIA-crack cocaine" allegations about L.A.
And after all that, CIA still carries water for the left.
