"My penis is made for some things too. Urination and procreation. Doesn't mean I need to flash it at you."

Ding ding ding! You win the prize for being the stupidest person on the face of the earth.

Is this the first time you've been on one of these breastfeeding threads? It's an eye-opener, isn't it?

Well, as long as realize it's down to Freedom's policy...

Freedom Airlines responds to breast-feeding incident

Published: Friday, November 17, 2006 Freedom Airlines has issued a response to an incident last month on one of the airline's flights departing Burlington International Airport. On Oct. 13, a flight attendant asked a breast-feeding mother to cover up, then asked the mother to leave the airplane when the mother refused.

The incident prompted a complaint to the Vermont Human Rights Commission and a protest at Burlington International Airport this week.

Paul Skellon, Freedom Airlines Vice President of Corporate Communications, issued this response "to concerned citizens who contacted me" after Free Press stories about the issue.

"Please accept the following in response to your e-mail of November 14, 2006. At the outset I would like to emphasize how seriously Mesa Air Group and Freedom Airlines takes this situation. As soon as the facts were brought to our attention, we immediately launched a thorough investigation. We concluded that the flight attendant in question acted contrary to the Company's expectations. We believe our disciplinary action was appropriate and was taken after considering all of the facts leading to this incident. I do believe it is worth noting that the events described in the article failed to include the fact that the flight attendant in question was young and new to her job. Furthermore, following the incident, the Captain apologized to the passenger and her family and immediately requested that they be re-boarded for their flight (an offer the family refused).

"We are reinforcing the manner this situation should have been handled with our front line employees. Our handling of this investigation and resolution of any deficiencies found to have occurred were focused on raising awareness of this issue for our employees. I hope you can appreciate our efforts to prevent any similar occurrences in the future.

"To clarify our policy, Freedom Airlines firmly supports a mother's right to breast feed a child. We understand that air travel presents particular difficulties to a nursing mother as airport facilities and aircraft are not designed to maximize privacy for passengers. Moreover while blankets are available for passengers convenience, we do not expect, (and will not in the future request) that nursing mothers use a blanket to cover their child while nursing. My comment in the original article to the contrary was not an accurate statement of our policy. I thank you for expressing your views to us and truly hope that you find our response both genuine and satisfactory."

Regards, Paul Skellon Vice President Corporate Communications

LOL! Now that you mention it, everyone born starts out as a sucker. Least wise until they get enough teeth to eat meat and start practicing on mommies nipple.

It's a strange world. The more breast exposure the better seems just fine, unless a baby is nursing it.

Exhibitionists. Do they urinate in public, too?

So you equate breastfeeding with urinating? Wow. You have problems.

There's nothing wrong with laying a light blanket across the point of action.

In a country where we show the most disgusting and bloodiest movies to our young public, where we show people in war dying, dead and mutilated, where people are not upset at pictures of our flag being burned it's hard to believe that people are so upset by the natural act of a woman breastfeeding her child. On those rare occasions when I have observed women breastfeeding their babies in public I found I was neither excited nor disgusted. Something I find personally more disgusting than women breastfeeding is the verbal garbage that comes out of people's mouths today in public.

The bottom line is this:

You're on our plane, you obey our rules or get the hell off.

I back them up 100% even tho you probably back up the execs who'll cave because they don't want the bad press.

I listen to rules on an airplane and obey what they tell me to do, even if some idiots don't (and believe me, in my years of flying I've seen many who don't).

Out..

Oh please. It's clear they backpedaled on this even by the issuer's own admission. They got some negative press and caved. Still doesn't stop the couple who refused to listen to them from being idiots nor those defending their actions any more than Jesse Jackson is an idiot for shaking down corps via race-baiting.

The flight attendant totally did his/her duty and the exec who issued that comment backed her up and it's evident their policy backed his/her up. The company did a Tour de France of backpedaling after the liberal media went nuts and ran this story five times.

Anyone who can't see that is clearly as nutty as the parents who perpetrated this on the airline. They were shaken down to stay out of the papers and out of court, plain and simple.

Welll, here goes (donning flame-proof suit): When a woman is pregnant, her breasts usually grow to about twice their normal size. The size increase remains if they then breastfeed their babies after they are born. For some of these women, I offer that it's the chance to pubicly display their breats at the "best that they can be" that drives them. It's an ego issue. Kinda like many women's secret fantasy to "take to the stripper stage" at least once. I've known many women who have that particular fantasy, and some of them you would consider to be prudish, Christian women. Not thay they would ever actually DO it, but they did have that fantasy.
Flame away, ladies, but I will think some of you "doth protest too much".

Oh please. It's clear they backpedaled on this even by the issuer's own admission.

Seeing as the pilot of the plane recognized the flight attendant's error as soon as she made it, I'd say you're full of crap. But then, we have a whole thread of your stupid posts that testify to that fact.

..no one Ive ever seen breastfeeding flaunts it."

I'll prove you wrong in a minute- decidedly wrong.

I don't gawk, but if I wanted to, a breast feeding mom has not a complaint about it if she wants to be in the public. I have the RIGHT to gawk if I want to. That is not the point. You can't demand decency if you are not willing to be respectful to others around you. I have been there in that position. You are a man so when have you ever breastfed a baby? You have no credibility in lecturing me. How dare I? Easily I dare. You want YOUR standards honored but to hell with everyone else when the call is out for common courtesy. I did not once in any post, ever, say, that women show their breasts too much or show off their breasts, or expose themselves unreasonably. Read, instead of lecturing, you jerk.

And the stupid comment about moms who don't flaunt or exploit their breastfeeding?? Honestly.

Look at the picture at the beginning of this post. Look at it! I suppose now you're going to assert that every single baby being breastfed in that picture was hungry or needed to be soothed,,,all of them at the same time, all at once, just in time for pictures! BS!!! That picture is a photo-op and ONLY a photo op for the MOMS! ONLY A PHOTO OP! It has ZERO,,get it, ZERO to do with those children. It is all about the moms and that, THAT is exploitation, that is hypocrisy and that is what pi$$e$ me off. All the moms here screaming,,"what do you want us to do with a screaming baby????" Some moms breastfeed screaming babies and some moms breastfeed for their own agenda,,,like the ones in the photo! You cannot prove that all of those children in that photo were hungry and neededto be soothed, all at the same time. Gee, what a coincidence!!!

Those moms put those babies to the breast whether or not the babies were demanding it to prove a point!!! They used that natural, beautiful process of breastfeeding that so many here are rabid about, THEY EXPLOIT it for the photo. Don't pull that motherhood, sainthood, moms do no wrong BS with me. I am a mom of 4 children and you haven't breastfed a baby in your life. So now, you want to tell me that all those babies were hungry and crying and fussy all at the very same time and it happened to be during the "Nurse In" and it wasn't in any way directed, SET UP, or exploited by the moms in that picture.

Whether the issue is breastfeeding, saying Islamic prayers, swearing, acting intoxicated, whatever,
if a flight attendant says to stand on your head, you, by law, are obligated to comply. Period. If you do not, you are subject to being removed from the flight. Period. Don't like that? Don't fly commercial. The lady on the flight, she did the right thing by leaving the flight and dealing with it later. That's the right way to handle it.

Save your righteous anger for someone else. My children have more decency than some moms I've seen breastfeeding. You are way out of line.
