All we have to do to retake the senate is to win 2 of these 12 seats.
Arkansas: Pryor (D) Delaware: Biden (D) Illinois: Durbin (D) Iowa: Harkin (D) Louisiana: Landrieu (D) Massachusetts: Kerry (D) Michigan: Levin (D) Montana: Baucus (D) New Jersey: Lautenberg (D) Rhode Island: Reed (D) South Dakota: Johnson (D) West Virginia: Rockefeller (D)
It looks like we could have a shot at Pryor, Harkin, Baucus, and Johnson.
AND THEN ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS HOLD ALL 21 OF OUR OWN SEATS THAT ARE UP.
This campaign was doomed from the start of the hearts-and-minds approach. The American people will not allow for a long war for such a perceived irrelevant goal. Bush took America's eye off the real war, the war of Islamic Conquest and fixed the peoples' focus on a long drawn out pacification campaign. It did not work in Viet Nam and it did not work in Iraq. Resurgent Islam is the enemy here and Bush's failure of perception in Iraq will lead to a much bloodier and economically damaging war with Iran or to Sharia in New York.
I'd say unseating Landrieu is better bet than unseating Harkin.
Perhaps God will see fit to help the good guys take baack the Senate (if Allen is indeed a gonner) before 2008 - some of the "senior" senators are old and in poor health. It just seems that there are just as many old dems as pubbies and its God's business any way. I am not wishing anyone ill, but goodness knows I can't stand the thought of Pelosi in charge of the House and having Reid lead the Senate is little better.
He's a dem
We lost 8 governerships and are now down to 20 and it is the governor who names the replacement senator.
Delaware: Biden (D) K
Illinois: Durbin (D) K
Iowa: Harkin (D) K
Louisiana: Landrieu (D) P
Massachusetts: Kerry (D) K
Michigan: Levin (D) K
Montana: Baucus (D) U
New Jersey: Lautenberg (D) K
Rhode Island: Reed (D) K
South Dakota: Johnson (D) P
West Virginia: Rockefeller (D) K
Code:U = Unlikely
P = Possible
K = Are you kidding me?
Ok the freeper consensus now is we need 2 out of pryor, landrieu, johnson, and baucus and hold our 21 incumbents.
"That would be my dream, but a pipe dream, to be sure. Wouldn't that be sweet!"
It's been a very rough day here in Maryland, but yeah,... an "act of God", that's what I'm talking 'bout.
Have some faith. A strong GOP candidate for President could have coattails that overwhelms Democratic turnout. Our first battle is taking on the media and exposing them for what they are. If they are allowed to shape the news and "create" their own truth with impunity as they did this last four years, the GOP has no realistic chance at making real gains in 2008. We simply have to put the media back in their place and not allow them to define us.
PF
Landrieu is definitely vulnerable, but the GOP will have to come up with a better candidate and campaign than her last two inept opponents.
Thanks for posting this information.
My mind is very much on the future now for obvious reasons.
I like your coding of the races. I sure am glad we republicans learned a lesson in 2006.
If the GOP wins the presidency in 2008, then we will take back the House and Senate.
If we lose the Presidency to the Democrats in 2008, then the Dems will increase their numbers in both House and Senate.
We better nominate a Winner!
How about Romney for Pres and Jeb for VP?
I will also accept Giuliani on the ticket.
McKean I can't support.
Didn't she run against Jindal, and just barely beat him? Granted, the guy was young, but I liked him and couldn't understand why he lost?
Wrong. We've got to take this party back from the RINOs. Only then will we win. Rush was so right that this Administration and certain members of Congress are wasting their time going moderate, and he's right not to do their job for them anymore.
So I guess you don't like Rush anymore?
He who controls communication controls the world.
The liberal media took our complaints and used them against us. It worked, because the majority of Americans are conservative. Even today, no one knows what the democrats agenda is for the future or what the voters actually voted FOR.
LOL poor Suzie Terrell. I think she did good consdiering. I am thinking Congressman Boustany
the conservative base alone - can't elect a president, and also cannot elect senators in many states. either that base is part of a coalition of republican inclined voters, or the alternative is the Dems and socialism.
therein lies the key to coming back - in two years, "xxx promised to get to business ..." and then ridicule with all the stupid things the libs will inevitably be moving on that will put bridge to nowhere to shame.
