Retaking the US Senate in 2008
11-9-2006 | self

Posted on 11/08/2006 9:15:35 PM PST by staytrue

All we have to do to retake the senate is to win 2 of these 12 seats.

Arkansas: Pryor (D) Delaware: Biden (D) Illinois: Durbin (D) Iowa: Harkin (D) Louisiana: Landrieu (D) Massachusetts: Kerry (D) Michigan: Levin (D) Montana: Baucus (D) New Jersey: Lautenberg (D) Rhode Island: Reed (D) South Dakota: Johnson (D) West Virginia: Rockefeller (D)

It looks like we could have a shot at Pryor, Harkin, Baucus, and Johnson.

AND THEN ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS HOLD ALL 21 OF OUR OWN SEATS THAT ARE UP.

I did not think Harkin is that strong.

But if we can't take out Harkin, then we need two out of these three, Pryor, Baucus, and Johnson. AND OF COURSE, WE NEED TO GO 21-0 ON OUR OWN SEATS.

That's the winning attude this place needs!

We've really, really, got to get the message to all our candidates to go farther right. The cowards always think they have to go to the middle, but in the end, conservativeness always wins.
They lost this election because they went too far left in Washington. Even the democrats were running farther to the right than many of our people.

start campaigning now.

We now live in the era of the perpetual campaign season. ....without rest.

Which is unfortunate -- it takes the focus off getting things done.

2008 is going to be a tight year, because we basically ran the table in 2002.

Coleman could be quite vulnerable in 2008.

I think there are currently 50 house seats held by Democrats in districts won by George W Bush in 2004.

We should own those districts and teach Republicans to vote in the mid-term elections without fail.

Wonder when Mr. Bryd is going to take his one way trip? Is the Governor of West Virginny a R or a D?

Lautenberg is such a piece of garbage, an absolute zero. Never has done anything, rude to his constituents, and hated in the Senate even by his own party. And they elect the bum.

As soon as amnesty is passed by the Crats and signed by the Republican president new illegal voters will flood into the US across the southern border....

Yep, to the tune of around 20 million new Democrat voters. Easy to see why the Democrats love the idea of Bush's amnesty proposal. It's a done deal.

If you bothered to learn a thing about Iraq you know we will be. War was all ready won. All the hysteric "Conservative" talking heads did whining endlessly about Iraq was help the Democrat noise machine. Now the terrorists know all they got to do is run out the clock and we will surrender.

Way to snatch Defeat from the jaws of Victory "Conservatives". You spent all your time the last two years eating your own instead of fighting the Dems. Maybe if the Conservative media did not spend all it's time shooting it own in the back OUR MESSAGE would get out instead of being drowned out by the Democrat Noise Machine.

Now that he's lost the Chair of the Armed Services Committee, I'd put money on John Warner (R-VA) retiring after this term.

Fine, then George Allen can run for that seat. :)

And they will reelect the bum too.

unless Harkin retires, his seat is secure. The others I agree with. Need GOOD STRONG candidates.

Governor Mike Rounds (R-SD) could whip Tim Johnson, if he'll run.

Yeah forming a circular firing squad and clinging to this pathetic need among "Conservatives" of spending all our time shooting our own instead of fighting the Dems is really going to help us win in 2008

Gotta lop off the dead limbs before you can go forward.

The problem is not only is it disray it doesnt exist. The voters she depends on are gone. She has depended on the NOLA vote in her last two elections. I am hopeful

Landrieu was vulnerable last time (Suzy Terrelle) - but her family (Moon Landrieu et al) owns the corrupt political machine in LA & they can whip out truckloads of winning votes faster than the boxes spread here & there in Virgnia + Montana this time. New landscape in LA might make a difference though as her core New Orleans city vote will inevitably be lighter, but unclear how strong or weak other districts may remain.

I was going to say that I thought Johnson was vulnerable.

With the right candidate at the top, we will be okay.
