All we have to do to retake the senate is to win 2 of these 12 seats.
Arkansas: Pryor (D) Delaware: Biden (D) Illinois: Durbin (D) Iowa: Harkin (D) Louisiana: Landrieu (D) Massachusetts: Kerry (D) Michigan: Levin (D) Montana: Baucus (D) New Jersey: Lautenberg (D) Rhode Island: Reed (D) South Dakota: Johnson (D) West Virginia: Rockefeller (D)
It looks like we could have a shot at Pryor, Harkin, Baucus, and Johnson.
AND THEN ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS HOLD ALL 21 OF OUR OWN SEATS THAT ARE UP.
Ok, what do you think of our chances ?
What republicans are up?
They need to do like Casey did, have a high profile name, the media in your pocket and start campaigning now.
If we are not out of Iraq by then kiss it good bye.
I live in Iowa, and there is, unfortunately, NO WAY you'll get Harkin out. He brings the pork home and he is a liberal favorite for the bigger cities in this state. He could rape his girl friend and his mama and still get re-elected.
Yes, but it taught the GOP a lesson...not everyone who calls themself conservative is our friend.
May Landrieu is the most vunerable on that list. I expect a hald decent canidiate could beat her
Uh.
Dream ON...those guys will NOT lose...
none of them will.
Laughtenberg may retire...but, he isn't from a state that will elect a GOP...my goodness, look at crooked Menenedez...ugh.
Well let me frighten you a bit more.
Now that he's lost the Chair of the Armed Services Committee, I'd put money on John Warner (R-VA) retiring after this term.
But I'm not ready for this conversation yet. I'm still in recovery from this year.
zero! However, we have a good shot in 2010. It is going to be a long four years.
I would add Landrieu, and subtract Harkin and Baucus. But 2008 is a long way off, and we don't know what the political landscape will be then.
Well, we may have some retirements as well.
IE - We're not going to take out Harkin or Rockefellar but, if either retired, the seat would be vulnerable to a challenge.
2008 is going to be a tight year, because we basically ran the table in 2002.
2008--- Winner take all.
Don't think so small, why not work to take them all, that will probably lead to taking at least two. When conservatives put aside their differences as to this that and the other they wield a big stick.
With the New Orleans political machine in disarray, it's quite possible that she could get beat.
As soon as amnesty is passed by the Crats and signed by the Republican president new illegal voters will flood into the US across the southern border in numbers to ensure that A number of those 21 seats will not be retains. The Crat congress will ensure that immigration laws are not enforced even so strongly as they now are and ACORN will be signing them up all over the country.
And nothing John Kerry or Teddy Kennedy could do, short of not being with us on this earth anymore, would cause them not to be re-elected. That would be my dream, but a pipe dream, to be sure. Wouldn't that be sweet!
