Democrats Will Take Control of the Senate

Posted on 11/07/2006 10:21:07 PM PST by jern

Looking at the votes still to be counted in MO it is bad news for Talent. He still has half of St. Louis County still to go. MT and VA are toast. 51-49 Democrats

That's great, now had Bush and the GOP had actually MENTIONED this repeatedly from the beginning we probably would have had a better turn out. They let the Dem's and the media define the economy while we were silent or murmuring stay the course.

Maybe you had your ears turned off the last 3 weeks?

And I see it too much with boomers. Most boomers and older I know believe what they hear Katie, Brian and Charlie say.

Yes, and when you try to present, with backing evidence, the real facts of a story or issue, there eyes just glaze over, or you get sheep-like mantras in reply.

Very frustrating. I've always been of the mind that the U.S. will just have to wear the narcissistic boomers like a millstone around our necks until they start keeling over in 15 year or so.

Just say no to drugs!

I am told that the percentage of voters would be much higher than 25% of population. That is likley correct --in 2002 Clay County had 59,000 voters.

If so, and if those counties are all that remain to report (absentee votes? St. Louis reserve precincts?) then Talent might just make it.

Maybe.

It doesn't matter it still stains us. The media jumped on it and our best response was " Yeah well they do it too!"

Shep Smith is near orgasmic.

Oh, it's much worse over at CNN and MSNBC. Olbermann and Chris Matthews are still on MSNBC. Don't even GO there... Keith, Chrissie & Co. are enjoying an all-nighter orgasm, if there is such a thing. They're not hiding their glee at all.

IF i were President Bush I would say, "OK, the American people have spoken and they have voted for a tax increase, they will get what they voted for.. "HIGHER TAXES", across the board and withdraw from Iraq, NEXT TIME they need to understand that voting for Democrats has consequences"

OOOOOH that would be sweeet...give them everything they want...AND tank out the economy.....

THAT'S the million-dollar question. One that needs to be answered VERY SOON, so we can begin the long process of informing the uninformed, lazy, happy-to-be-totally-ignorant voters.

Hard to make a silver lining when I don't see the MSM changing. The people in this country are believing every word they say. It will be the same in 2008!

I agree with parts of your logic, but the way I see it if the GOP losses the Reagan Democrats, and tongiht it certainly looks like we did, then were not going to have any shot at rebuilding a majority, McCain is for victory in Iraq and has said he would appoint conservative justices and would bring all those people back in my opinion..

Exactly right. It challenges their trust... trust you or trust what they saw or read. They'd rather trust what they saw or read. It's simply how they grew up, when you COULD believe in those things and trust them.

Oh the campaign began on Columbus day? I wasn't aware of that. Now how many weeks were the Dems and the Media hammering home the "War on the middle class" theme? A butt load more then 3 weeks.

Should be interesting gridlock for the next 2 years. Hopefully nothing gets passed. Wonder if Bush will be able to get a USSCJ in now if one opens. Probably not.

"So its good we lost control?"

I neither said or implied no such thing. Trust me, I went through some hell today just to vote for Allen. I hate it that we didn't win! Having said that, to get back on track the republicans need to get back to what got them to where they were. Limited government conservatism!

"Had to be Iraq Iraq Iraq. Had to be. What else?"

Jerry Lewis, former House Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee and overseer of the largest Ear-marked bill in Congressional History.

And, no attention to illegals. Go to any Home Depot or fast food and it is all illegals. Sometimes I think there is a slave trade going on.

The conservative base stayed home or crossed-over, because as my brother said, it doesn't matter one bit. Americans want Communists in power, then let them have Communists in power. He is a Life-time NRA member, register fire-arms trader, Regional Director of the Boy Scouts and this is how he feels about this Congress!

I know something that will. Bush's border plan.
