You can only stiff folks for so long before they react.

Then react in the GD primaries for chrissakes. Get a good sleep. Because our nightmares start tomorrow.

As I see it, the MSM are the real winners, they have the power to influence an election and I believe, wholeheartedly, that is precisely what has happened in this election.

Unfortunately, that is correct.

Any news on Georgia?

It would be nice to gain them, since we will likely lose Foley's seat and Delays' write-in Seckula whatever her name is probably going to go down in flames.

Barone just said he expects the lead for Allen to go all the way down to 0. Probably a recount.

Great. ZERO is my rating for Fox and the rest of the LSM.

they have the power to influence an election

They have for a long time. It's the fact that we REALIZE it now that indicates a change...and is a great source of glee for me. It means with time and effort, we can eventually change it.

The republicans can not win with out social conservatives.

Of course not. My point is, this election won't convince the moderates of that. The media will spin it the GOP is TOO conservative, and the moderates will buy it.

The Dow might not tank, especially as long as Republicans control one house of Congress.

The street typically likes a split Congress because very little gets done and less money gets spent. I usually like it that way too, but not in wartime.

he talk for months has been how the GOP needs to "get rid" of the social conservatives and move left to center.

We can't "get rid of" the social conservatives, we need them to win.

But they need to realize that they are not now and will never be a majority, and the most they can get out of politics is a smaller government with a less intrusive role, improving their chances to be left alone to raise their children as they see fit.

They can only govern in coalition with libertarians and fiscal conservatives. The alternative is socialism.

Karl Rove has created this night. His "base" has grown as big as it will ever get, and in so doing has split off the libertarians and fiscal conservatives.

It's a losing strategy and it has to be changed.

You can't FORCE freedom on someone.

You miss the point. You force freedom on the maniacs by delivering it to the good people all around them. You saw the pictures of the purple fingers. If you think the majority of Iraqi's don't want freedom you are sadly mistaken.

I am out here in Missouri where as of now Jim Talent is leading with about 1/3 of the vote in. If Allen and Cokker also hold the line we may keep the Senate.

Thanks... hope that good news continues. I have been expecting that we would keep the Senate all along. I sure wish we weren't in this position now where "we MAY keep the Senate"...

Anyway, thank you for your vote for Jim Talent. He is a good man... hope he makes it.
