Hello FRiends,
I received a call at 2:00 this morning from my parents letting me know that my grandfather had passed on. While I wasn't necessarily the closest grandson, I still admired him for all that he accomplished in this life - including surviving the attack at Pearl Harbor. A wonderful grandfather, friend, and father, he will be remembered by all that knew him.
Miss you already, Grandpa - see you on the other side.

I lost my grandfather 30 years ago and still miss him and grandmother to this day. It's the nature of life, but that doesn't make it any easier, I know.
Remember the good times and hold your family even tighter. Make memories now. I'm sure your grandpa knew you loved him, even though you weren't "the closest."
May G-d hold you and your family in the palm of his hand as you celebrate the life and achievements of a good man. We, all Americans, own him a debt of thanks for his service.
I lost my WWII Navy (Pacific) veteran father in July. They were truly the greatest generation, and I am sure they are receiving the just rewards of their service.
May he rest in peace.

Your grandpa was indeed one of the lucky ones to have survived the Pearl Harbor attack. God rest his soul. He was indeed one of the "greatest generation"!
