Chris Matthews just couldn't wipe that grin off his face. Interviewing him on this morning's 'Today,' Meredith Vieira began by suggesting that despite the tough electoral environment for Republicans, polls over the weekend were showing movement in their direction. She started to pose a question, but so distracting was Matthews' mugging that she couldn't continue, asking instead "why are you smiling?"
Replied Matthews:
"Because I think it's going to be a wipe-out. I think the Democrats are going to carry the House by 20-some, high-20s and I think the Senate seats are perhaps not six, but five, and I can see a big victory for the Democrats."

Matthews went on to sound a cautionary note to Dems about not dancing in the end zone. And no doubt he would seek to explain his smile and response as reflecting his amusement at the suggestion that the election might be close, not his satisfaction with the anticipated outcome. But does anyone believe he would have been equally gleeful had he been convinced Republicans were heading toward a big victory?
Yup. How Mary Matalin can reproduce with him is a mystery to me. Maybe he wears the trash can to bed?
He was a Democrat staffer like Steffy. What do you guys expect? The media is the communications wing of the Democrat party and world socialist movement.

Does Chris state that his show is pro-democrats, does he verbally tell his viewers that he approaches all interviews and commentary from the left? Is he HONEST about his take and shadings or does he remain dishonest, allowing his psycho smiles and questions and responses to make his pro-liberal points on air?
I can't watch him. So I don't know if he has come out of the liberal closet or not. Most media dem jocks who provide mainstream media news shows (ie today show, etc) do not, being democrats they are naturally cowards and thrive on innuendo and distortion, but Matthews sounds as if he is open with his liberal stance now. Has he verbally said he is a liberal dem on his show?
Do they make a waste basket in Chrissy's size? Will he need need to go directly for the 'tall kitchen' model?
I knew her name once, but forget it at the moment. Point is, she's not a public celebrity but a behind the scenes type...an FNC producer of the news based in Washington. Oh, yeah, think her name is Kim. Not sure what last name she goes by, his or hers. They are invited to Washington parties as a couple, such as, to WH dinners.
For all of us UFC fans his smile is the same smile that the receiver of a good solid punch displays. If the punched one has to say "that didn't hurt" you know it hurt.

I don't watch him either. In channel surfing I've gotten tiny dribs and drabs.
He really doesn't have to say "I'm a liberal Democrat". It's the way he acts and the way he conducts his show. It's what he says, how he says it, his body language, everything. He's a fool for Democrats. He despises Bush, Cheney and Karl Rove? Why? That's easy. They got the power and kept his Dem buds out of power.
The only time he really attacks Dems is if they mess up, in his opinion, and make it easier for Repubs to win. The only Repubs he cares for are the RINO types that hurt our cause. Matthews is out of control in his personal demeanor. He is just about rabid, politically, I would say.
Someone like that doesn't need to officially announce what they are.
I hope to watch him tomorrow night in tears. Prissy Mathews shameful covering for John Kerrys dissing or our troops, and claiming the white house had the head of the VFW criticize Kerry as part of an orchestrated 'White House' smear campaign was beyond the pale. I watch the next night to see if he would apologize when he was PROVEN wrong, but he did not. He is not a journalist, but a Rat hack.
Chris, I like drinking too, but I try not to go to work drunk.
Actually this will make Wednesday even more enjoyable.

But I do believe that any news show, any political events show or any reporting of the news of the day done on any program, if the person doing the reporting goes thru the shenanigans you describe in your post, should be OBLIGATED to announce their leaning toward one of the other party's.
Too many people do not read the crappy innuendo correctly. Many assume the news is JUST as, say Matthews, relates it. This is wrong.
I also think the print media, aka, the NYT, if its owners had a decent desire to be honorable, would have permanently printed on its front page 'a paper with a liberal perspective , a paper that promotes democrats and their ideals.'
That or 'Goebbels is our mentor!'

Wow, you mean Chrissy Matthews has admitted he isn't an objective, fair reporter? I'm stunned. Shocked, I say.
