My homeys at the Weekly Standard have published their election predictions, and they range from dire to calamitous. Meanwhile, Im merrily skipping about Soxblog Manor (in a completely manly way, mind you) whistling a happy tune. I expect Tuesday to be an extremely successful day for the Republican Party.
Anybody got a link to Tradesports or the Irish books? As I recall, they hit the 2004 election results pretty well.

That didn't last long! (Thank God)
The news everywhere seems to be bad, although put in context for a midterm election in the sixth year of a presidency, it's actually pretty good news for Bush, historically speaking. Just not so great for the American people who can look forward to a veritable lollapalooza of Quasi-semi-sorta Impeachment Hearings, blocked judicial appts, & general obstructionism & mischief making ad nauseum under LaLaPelosi for the next 2 yrs.
We all just have to pray that everybody is as dishonest as I am when speaking to pollsters! And pray that the "base" allegedly staying home in order to "teach those rinos a lesson" realize what the stakes are, find their moral consciences and vote on Tues.
Going to see FLAGS this evening.....
Neither is the Bush assassination movie doing well. I guess it's not a Democrat year.
I expect the Republicans will lose some seats, but hold both majorities.
The Bush assassination movie was a huge bomb.
This is good, lets hope a lot of them think like this. Around here, the types of Dems that are elected, like Indys mayor, made Indy a murder capitol, reflects Dem voters. I will always say that they get into the prez election, but they don't care alot about mid terms. A lot of them don't even know the local candidates. What you said is what I believe, screw the beltway folks, they have no idea of middle America.
Well, then after we lose, we will give you the appropriate kudos.
But there is no way on the face of the planet I'm going to concede defeat before we're defeated. And there is definitely room for cautious optimism.
Maybe they'll say, "We were right before we were wrong" and that the public "misinterpreted" their predictions.
Then they'll shower us with the "many have said" articles -- "many have said" polling irregularities account for Republican victory, "many have said" Republican resistance to simplified ballots account for their victory, "many have said" (fill in the blank).
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." -Manuel II Paleologus
But haven't you heard of the obscure evangelical preacher in Colorado embroiled in a gay sex scandal? (Before yesterday I'd never heard of him either) It's really going to depress the Republican vote! In fact, if another tsunami hits Indonesia, it's really going to depress the Republican vote!
Dims always have smaller turnout at the midterms. If the weather is bad, they will turn out at even lower numbers. I wish there was one huge storm system that would cover 90% of the country, but that seems unlikely.
Here's a quote from this article"
"So what's it all mean? In the tied races, the Republican will win. In the close races, the Republican will win. It adds up to...But wait, there's more! ...And in Pennsylvania, Rick Santorum is in striking distance."
You just bet he is!!! The gound is almost covered here in Pennsylvania with people working to keep this good man in the U.S. Senate. And it's NOT over until it's over!!!!

<"Flags of Our Fathers" is a Box Office Bomb. >
Mainly because it was filled with PC tripe.
