Thanks for all your support.

Here is a picture of us terrorizing women and children in the dead of night after we kicked in some doors...

OK, maybe not...

Do they really look terrorized to you?

Thanks for the ping, FRiend.

We keep a couple pictures like the first few on our bulletin board at church. Several of our members are in Afghanistan and Iraq. Thankfully, we don't see many like the last of the pictures. Our little group has some wounded but all but one have returned home alive, thank God.

To: Mrs.Nooseman; everyone
I just had to show you all this picture too, this little girl was so shy... that was until the candy came out, LOL.

That is SFC Rockeymore holding the bag.

Later on she started following me around. Here I am dropping candy down the slide.

These pictures were taken before this one where I am swinging next to her on the swing while she tries to get the candy.

OK, The secret is out, we soldiers are just a bunch of kids.

The look on that child's face in the first picture is PRICELESS. Kids are wonderful, and I'm sure they appreciate having something GOOD going on in their lives - as you and SFC Rockeymore are able to do.

btw, what do you most like to see in care packages? We'll be working on some tomorrow night. We have a list, but it is a LONG one, and it's hard to know where to start with it!

Jean, thanks again for posting this.

I've added keywords "oldmediamissesiniraq", but more specifically for this story, "goodiniraq" .

What a great story. Makes it all the worse that our media does not see fit to publicize what good we're doing there in an ongoing basis. Considering the appeal of such stories as this, it makes it all the more clear that the reason such stories are NOT told is to undermine our efforts there. As if we didn't already know that from VN and Iraq I.

I've added (as I noted above) additional keywords "oldmediamissesiniraq" and "goodiniraq".

Best to you, and thanks so much for all you are doing. Stay safe.

Hi, Republic! Sorry I'd missed your post earlier. We were/are doing this as an ongoing project in our church group. We collect the most-needed items & send them via USPS in those $8 mailer boxes to some contacts a friend has in Iraq, which means they get there pretty quickly.

I'm wondering what is really 'most needed' in the minds of others who post here. Perhaps what we have is the standard list; it includes eyedrops, small sizes toiletries, Tylenor, ibuprofen, sunscreen ... I tried to imagine being there, and ended up thinking how much we owe to those serving. And this as the holidays were approaching.

I spent a few days with Iraq War vets a few weeks ago, and they were telling me about how the children there loved them so. Said they gave the kids all the candy they would get.

Yes, there is a lot of mushiness in this country, too many people who comment on the War and don't have a clue.

Yesterday I went and had a haircut and the hairdresser (about the third time this has happened) started telling me she wouldn't let her son go to Iraq. I reminded her we were attacked on American soil, 3,000 people killed here on 9/11. Another hairdresser was listening, her boyfriend just returned from Iraq. We both told the goofy one that SOMEBODY'S SON is over there fighting terrorists, so we don't have to fight them on American soil.

She still didn't get it.

To: LUV W; Eaker; Mrs.Nooseman; thackney; glock rocks; JeanS; davidosborne; NotJustAnotherPrettyFace; ..

Here is a funny little story...

I received an Email from our Commander a while back. Apparently he had received an Email chain letter from his wife titled:
"Photos of American Troops Torturing Iraqi Children"
Which actually contained pictures of American Troops playing with happy Iraqi children along with some rediculous captions on torturing techniques.

The reason he took interest in this particular chain letter was that one of the photos was of ME on a teeter-totter with an Iraqi child.

He got a big kick out of it.

Since then I've received the same Email forwarded to me by about six other friends all saying, "hey, this is YOU!" LOL.

Anyway, it is good to see that the message is getting out even though it isn't through the traditional media. There is little doubt that the source of this Email is a Freeper.

Thanks for your continued support. I am halfway through my tour in Iraq and the support from wonderful people, like you, have made it so much easier.

God bless,
MAJ KS

Hi cutie.

I got that same email and was proud to tell some of my friends and relatives that I "know" that guy on the teeter-totter!

Thank you for your service.

Did you read your FReepmail?

p.s. I'm sitting at home waiting for the latest Alberta Clipper to drop some snow in our area. A last ditch effort on the part of Mother Nature.

We here know the score and spreading the word verbally and via email is the least that we can do.

Good on y'all and thanks so much for all y'all do!
