"Mission Accomplished" vs. "Halp us jon carry - we r stuck hear n irak" (liberal media bias)

"Mission Accomplished" vs. "Halp us jon carry - we r stuck hear n irak" (media bias)

Compare the coverage in the liberal media of the "Halp us jon carry - we r stuck hear n irak" banner by our troops in Iraq this week vs. the feeding frenzy over the "Mission Accomplished" banner from the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln returning from an extended deployment so they could participate in Iraqi Freedom back in March 2003.

This morning ONE major newspaper decided to run a picture of the banner along with a cover story... The New York Post, ironically the only major newspaper with an increasing circulation. No LA Times, No NY Times, No Washington Post, etc., etc., etc.

NY Post story link - GIs Drop Smart Bomb on Kerry

In contrast remember back to the feeding frenzy of the liberal media over the "Mission Accomplished" banner. The media was foaming at the mouth to cover this 'story' and have always managed to keep it alive all the way throughout the Presidency of George Bush.

This demonstrates a classic case of liberal media bias.

Had a Republican made the comments that traitor john kerry just did the other day it would have been front page news for weeks and add to that a banner with criticism from the troops ... that photo would have been above the fold on the frontpage every newspaper in this country.

This is just another example of why the dying old drive-by media newspaper giants are watching their circulation go into a death spiral.

---

During Hugh Hewitt's show on Thursday afternoon he mentioned that they checked over 520 newspaper frontpages from all across the country and only the New York Post and one other paper had the banner photo on their frontpage.

How many extra % votes do ya'll think media bias is worth to Demorat candidates?

I think 5% at least, way more enough to turn many elections.

That's a great question.

With all the excellent conservatives in talk radio both nationally and local, the new media bloggers and Fox News I'm sure the percentage is much diminished than say 20 years ago during the Ronald Reagan era and before that.

Can you just imagine a Ronald Reagan Presidency with Fox News, talk radio as we know it today and the bloggers??? That's a scary thought for liberals, leftists and democrats in this country and around the world.

Couldn't agree more. I've always said that if we had had Fox News and the internet in 1992, no one would ever have heard of Bill Clinton.

I have always taken exception to the MSM's reaction to the "Mission Accomplished" banner that was hanging from the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln the day that President Bush landed and gave his speech to the crew coming home.
First of all, a mission is not a war. Second, the entire Navy including the crew of the Abraham Lincoln did accomplish their mission of taking over the Persian Gulf and ports of Iraq. They also were successful in taking over the skies over Iraq until the ground troops could secure the ground positions including airports so our Air Force could make use of them.
This was not President Bush's banner, it was the Navy's, and they did deserve to have it displayed and should be proud of it to this day.

I remember watching that speech by President Bush from the Abraham Lincoln LIVE on Fox News. It was an excellent speech and welcome home for those sailors who extended their mission to participate in Iraqi Freedom.

It appears to me that the MSM is getting more bold in its anti-American propaganda, as we get closer to an election that they believe will put them back into power. We have CNN publishing snuff videos, Fox News owner supporting Hillary Clinton, and many other anti-American news reports. We have virtually zero pro-American reports on the middle eastern war. We have the enemy supporting themselves in the media; and we have the USA supporting the enemy in the media. Sad, indeed.

The MSM is looking forward to having their "own" anti-American supporters in the Congress.

And furthermore...

I am sick and tired of hearing the left whining about Bush wearing that flight suit. All civilian passengers on combat aircraft, regardless of the circumstance, are required to wear the appropriate flight gear. Bush could have refused, but he chose to show respect for the Navy and the people who serve in uniform by wearing that flight suit.

Jon Carry never would have.

One of the problems is ,we are losing Fox News.
Its leaning more and more towards liberals.

There are only a few shows that I watch anymore on it.

"Jon Carry never would have"

Didn't he get dressed up in 2003 for his swift boat attack on Boston Harbor? "Jon Carry reporting for duty".
Why do Massachusetts politicians running for President look like such idiots when they play dress-up military, while they are taking a ride on a boat or a ride in a tank?

Amazingly, the Philadelphia Inquirer ran the photo today, inside a great column about Kerry by Jonah Goldberg. The Inquirer was also one of the only papers in the country that printed the Mohammed cartoon.

Forget going back to "Mission Accomplished"... just compare it to the incessant "macaca" nonsense.

re: How many extra % votes do ya'll think media bias is worth to Demorat candidates?

I think the effects are slowly wearing off. Several years ago it was beyond the imagination of most Americans that the MSM was slanting and spinning news coverage. But with every new example that pops up more Americans realize the desperation being experienced by the MSM. There are simply no limits to what they will do in an effort to get to their glory days.
