Kerry's remarks are so damaging because they're really a Freudian slip that'll remind a lot of people about a fundamental truth: Democrats' disdain for our military, this country, its traditions and its heritage...
...their condescension of the common man (whether it's a US soldier or blacks they treat as invalids incapable of improving their own lot in life without government help or quotas)
...their elitism...
....their repeated (and clumsy) efforts to hide their disdain and arrogance in their pursuit of political power...
...their efforts to misrepresent what they really believe and what they'd really do if put in power (raise taxes, increase government spending, reduce our military preparedness, delegate our national security to other countries)...
...their ignorance (our military happens to be significantly better educated than the general population and the most educated, professional, high-tech armed force in the history of the world)
...and their shameless attempts to keep pretending they're something they're not...
These are not true Americans in the traditional sense of the word. These are not the Democrats of old -- like Truman, Roosevelt or Kennedy. They are not people of integrity.
They are not the kind of people we can trust to put our economy, our national security or our military first at this challenging time for both our national security and our economy's competitiveness.
Kerry's "joke" is just the latest reminder. No one's laughing. If anything the criticism of his remarks has been way too lenient. These people need to be exposed for what they really are -- a fifth column...a bunch of self-serving useful idiots at best unqualified for any position of national authority in this country. Maybe in France, but not here.
EXACTLY RIGHT - thank you for this.

Kerry, the leading face and preferred hero of the party in 2004 and since, has in his nature an inherent, irrepressible disdain for the military.
I believe Kerry went to Vietnam for the express purpose of later being able to make what would appear at the time to be legitimate condemnations about our troops and our country and our policy in order to launch his leftwing political career. He stayed in Vietnam just three months, a much shorter tour than most, caused two of the three injuries that gave him the three needed purple hearts to get out of there, and then abandoned his crew. He came back and told horrible public lies before the congress, and that doesn't even get into his Paris trip, Hanoi Jane, Winter Soldier and the rest.
When I consider what Kerry has said about our military and what he really thinks about them and America, I thank GOD he lost in 2004!
This is a man who has accomplished little of significance in his own life beyond marrying rich (who has never successfully led the push for any significant legislation in Congress, who managed to snatch failure from the jaws of presidential victory). He needs to be put to task for what he really meant: that our military is a bunch of dumb, uneducated losers and slackers instead of the most educated, professional and highly motivated fighting force in the history of the planet Earth.
Kerry is a @#%$-&%$!@#.
Alan Colmes is on my radio right now defending this Winter Soldier fiasco as being the truth about our military. He's saying that soldiers were prosecuted and found guilty of these atrocities.
His entire program tonight is defending Kerry's lies about his 'joke' and when anyone calls who disagrees..he yells over the top of them and won't let them speak and then hangs up on them.
Colmes just said that Kerry would make a great president!!
Good point.
In spite of the spin assist he is getting from the MSM, Kerry did not apologize! He said he was sorry if others misunderstood what he said. That is not an apology. He still places the blame on others, he doesn't think he has done anything wrong.
Like "joking" in 1971 about Genghis Khan???
John F. Kerry: The Great American Gelding.
And the source here [Kerrry] matters. If John McCain had made Kerrys remarks, wed be astounded, but McCains history would argue in his favor and wed grant him the benefit of the doubt. But Kerrys history does the opposite: his past exploits and efforts to drag the reputation of American soldiers through the mud are absolutely relevant and mean he doesnt get to pretend that nobody could ever think hed say something denigrating about the military. If youve never been known to raise your hand in anger towards a woman, you can crack a joke about beating your wife and get away with it (even if you shouldnt). But if youve got a history of beating your wife, you dont get to make jokes about beating your wife without bringing the full weight of societys suspicion and opprobrium down on you.
Very good point. No one's going to be fooled by his spin. His history does indeed condemn him.
"Out of the abundance of the heart does the mouth speak."
If nothing else, this incident is nothing more than a manifestation of the essential ugliness of the Democrat/leftist soul for the whole world to see.
There are no more excuses.
Whose side are you on?
If you have any doubts about this I refer you to the early days of the Clinton Whitehouse and their treatment (murder) of a band of ragtag religious extremists, minding their own business and exercising their First Amendment rights in Waco Texas - "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."
There is no Constitution for the Vast Right Wing, gun-toting, poor white trash, Conspiracy.
I agree.
