Interviewing Ted Kennedy on MSNBC, Chris Matthews referred to the controversy over Kerry's comments as a 'brouhaha' and a 'rhubarb. Kennedy was of course only too happy to agree, calling the controversy a "diversion" and even casting Kerry as the victim, claiming he is the "target of Republicans" reacting to his criticism of the war.
A bit later in the hour, Matthews flatly claimed that Kerry only meant to say that Bush hadn't studied enough before he became president and thus got us into a mess in Iraq, and later still:
"I think he meant to go after the President."
To quote that great student of human behavior, John McEnroe: "you cannot be serious!"
I think it shows just how bad the dems know it is that they sobered him up to respond to this.
In the pantheon of inummerable reasons why the democraps/socialist/journalists are the worst scum that ever lived, the most annoying one is the "we're objective, we're not liberals" BS.
He's one of the most egregious examples of a putz.
I showed Kerry's quote to 3 people without saying who made the statement. I asked them how they interpreted it and all said it was insulting to the troops. No other way to spin it.
At least Hannity on FOX lets you know where he stands.

Kerry talking about President Bush could not have been in context of that statement because he was talking about individuals other than Bush getting an education.
Little Chrissy obviously got the memo.
Kerry, like all liberals, has no concept of duty, honor, or love of country.
Ergo, the only reason liberals believe that a person serves in the military is because that person is a moron with no other options.

It's a pretty good perspective on what he really thought of the men he was commissioned to lead in Vietnam, too.
Later he called them rapists and murderers, but he clearly had nothing but contempt for them from the start.

Just heard the show and Matthews quite clearly said Kerry was talking about the President...not the troops. It is obvious Kerry meant the troops.
The Democrats and the media are allies of the terrorists. Hanoi Kerry is a traitor, who should be tried, convicted and sentenced to death by hanging.
Does anyone have a link to what Kerry said? Whatever Bush may be perceived as lacking, he seldom lashes out, and when he does it's not tinged with disdain and pure hate. These people are seriously acting like a bunch of psycotics.
Maybe you misunderstood. After all, Matthews can sound a bit garbled due to the male appendage he has in his mouth anytime he interviews democrats...

I think he probably was trying to attack Bush by saying he left the poor etc. in the military to serve in Iraq. But, he said it horribly awful.
