I just read what the text of Kerry's speech was, here it is;

"I can’t overstress the importance of a great education. Do you know where you end up if you don’t study, if you aren’t smart, if you’re intellectually lazy? You end up getting us stuck in a war in Iraq.”

That sounds like a slam on Bush.

As written, you're right. And if that's what he meant, all he had to do was say what the correct sentence was and apologize to the troops for unintentionally insulting them, and the whole thing would have gone away. Instead he launches into a really psychotic rant and makes it worse.

Now. That said, when was the text of the speech published, and was it altered?

Tomorrow is another day.....

I want to remind the thread that Rush is interviewing the President tomorrow and will have the interview on his program.

The f5 weariness will continue.... gotta love it.

Imagine you've already heard that Kerry has already cancelled his appearances for today. He's been put in the meatgrinder with Howard Dean.

Boston's golden boy's image must be preserved by the lead newspaper? I hear Jack Welch is interest in buying the rag. Wonder what his politics are.

There are still, among us, a legion of people who know precisely what the media are up to and simply don't listen. And vote GOP.

Bill, cleverly attempting to appear "fair and balanced". His real agenda is never too deeply hidden.

I want to think you are wrong, but I suspect you are correct.

It's a crapshoot. I think Bush will try to be magnanimous and, in doing so, will throw Kerry a lifeline and get him out of the mess he's in.

That's why things have devolved to The Stupid Party vs. The Evil Party.

"I'm glad you didn't choke."
I'm glad to. I had to trot back to the Home Depot and serve the minions of the demoratic wards in one of Philly's lousest HD's. The throngs of people coming into this store are mostly minority groups, and of course they demand to be waited on hand and feet. Some of the rudest people I have meet in my 60 years. At any rate. And so many don't seem to know squate about anything as they waddle through the aisles jamming their shopping carts with stuff, then just leaving the store.
Image having a constant stream of shopping carts and returns one has to contend with for 8 hours, where everything must be quickly put back on the shelves, while at the same time one must attempt to serve multiple customers at the same time, with widely varying needs. If I was not broke I doubt I would have made it to six months at this place. Zoos are quiet well defined habitats where the majority of animals are well taken care off, feed, and lay around in bliss. This HD is like a whacko ward. It is a wonder the employees show up for work.
At any rate. It appears the Frenchy is not going to slip out of the rabbit trap he placed himselve into this time around.

Thanks for the ping.

I've been pretty busy and haven't been able to check in.

My blog got picked up by the BBC today, and it's been all I could do just to keep up, and try to get some work done. :)

I still don't get it...it doesn't make sense even if the text (which I expect was written AFTER the speech) had been stated verbatim. Is Kerry saying that if you do not get a college education you will end up president and get US stuck in Iraq? The prez has an ivy league undergrad and grad degree...what IS kerry saying about education?

Besides, is there anyone left in America who believes the elite democrats respect our military? In any given day I would be willing to bet money that he spends more time pondering his hair, his manicure, his plans for dinner and his weekend playtime than on any service to his state or national legislation.

Kerry simply and finally let his true belief escape his arrogant pinheaded self.

I expect his continuous denigration of our military has only deepened and widened since the moment his fellow troops in Vietnam (the guys who served directly with him there) called his actions in Vietnam into the light. God BLESS the SWIFT BOATERS!

Kerry is one insidious, anti-American girlie man who has come to believe his own liberal press reports.

Would bet money that kerry spends more time pondering his hair appointments, manicure dates, clothes, dinner plans and weekend playtime than he ever spends deliberating issues that impact his State or our Nation.

I think the simplest explanation is that Kerry is just plain nuts.

I'm sure it is buried in the thread, but I wanted to post the youtube link again.

If you read the comments, there seems to be a fair number of Democrats who will be voting Republican for the first time.
