Are you a disgruntled Conservative? - Then vote Republican in 2006!! :-)

Yes I am like a lot of conservatives and have not been very impressed with the performance of the Republicans on issues like illegal immigration, controlling government spending, and waging a war in IRAQ that is too politically correct and with not enough force and vigor.

But I am voting straight R's in 2006 and am staying the course with the Republican party

Why?

To sit it out and hoping to punish the Republicans is not an objective way to address the above concerns. If the Democrats take power its just going to make these issues get even worse than ever. We all need to band together and keep working these issues to our satisfaction within the Republican party for its the only vehicle that we have. We can address these issues but these things take time and hard work. I see that yes there is some movement forward on the illegals issue with the fence bill that has recently been signed. At least it did not have any amnesty issues in it for it was all about securing the borders. I also vehemently disagree with Bush on the guest worker issue but we have got to realize that he is only going to be president for only 2 more years and its going to take probably longer than that to win the fight against illegal immigration. We need to continue the pressure in Congress with a Republican majority to keep the presidents ambitions of guest workers and amnesty in check.

Also the same can be said of fighting against out of control federal spending.

We also need to commit to long term support of the Republican party to get a more aggessive adminstration in power that does not fight wars piecemeal like Rumsfield and the Bush administration have done.

I sympathize with the angry conservatives for I agree with their anger and concern but you have just got to take the emotions out and look at this objectively and that is a conservative strength we should nourish and support. Also have had many disagreements with the hard core Bush supporters on FR.

This is all about winning in the long term and letting the RATS slip in to punish the Republicans and "get their attention" is going to set us back for decades.

So what I am asking is please throttle back the anger and consider this in a objective manner for we can the "R" party back on the right track with enough effort. We need to stay committed to the Republicans in 06 and focus on the primaries in 08 and get rid of some of these RINOS that infest the party.

This is not about winning a battle its about winning the war in the long term. I always love the quote by Calvin Coolidge "Persistance is omnipotent to Success"

God Bless all of you whether you agree or disagree

Kind Regards DN

If we do win, I would hope we will have a chance to show them how we think of their performance.

I hope the events of today's electorates and, the danger they are in in loosing their seat will awaken them.

Don't think for a moment they haven't seen the displeasure the conservatives are showing at this moment in history of "our"-party.

I did donate to Graf. The GOP candidates will easily win in our town.... can't speak for other parts of the state, but I think Kyl will win. Unfortunately, looks like our dem governor is going to easily win against Munsil...

Being a disgruntled conservative beats the hell out of being a disgruntled liberal.

It's better to have two cookies and wish for two or three more with Macadamia nuts than to have no cookies and see only a greasy spot on the window where you have pressed your nose so many times.

If you want to keep your two cookies, you better damn sure get out to vote and you better vote Republican. If you don't, You will loose your cookies and it might be a long wait for more.

You are right that my comment sucked, and it deserved to be deleted. The comment that folks siphon their votes away from Lieberman, which would help elect the execrable Lamont, got under my skin - but that does not excuse my poor manners. Mea culpa!

Thanks. We agree electing Lamont would be a disaster for Connecticut and our national security.

"You'll have to admit that recently there haven't been too many inspiring incidents of actual leadership to cause people to crawl across broken glass to get to the polling place and vote for pleasing "Republicans!"

Amen.

Good post!!!!!!

This election is not the time to try to send a message to the GOP about how we (conservatives) really feel about their move to the left of center. We'll have our chance in the near future to expel the RINOS.

I must say that I have bashed Bush and the GOP in recent years for their failed policies, but will still vote straight R for the good of the country and my grankids future.

We must all get out there and vote.
