Its time to vote straigh Democratic ticket [Zot!]
Posted on 10/20/2006 3:44:01 AM PDT by Polliwag
I can say without an iota of hesitation or regret that I will cast a ballot for a Democrat for only the third time in my 26 years of voting. The only Democrats I ever voted for were Ann Richards for governor on TX against that quack Clayton Williams and for Lloyd Bentsen for Senator from TX.
Due to my total disgust with the way the Federal and the state governments have conducted themselves and how they have failed to act in the interest of this country, I will proudly vote a straight Democrat ticket this year and as a vow to myself, for the next 20 years.
The only exception to this is that I will vote for Kinky for governor because he is the only one I don't view with contempt over their past actions.
Now if only 30,000,000 others out there who are fed up with the corruption, the inaction on border security, the mess in Iraq, the immigration issue, the ever worsening health care fiasco in this country, the incredible spending binge undertaken by Bush and Congress, the Internet gambling ban and the contemptible and disrespectful way in which the GOP views the American public (except for those writing them big checks and paying for all their luxurious lifestyles) will do the same thing, we can start the revolution that will begin to turn this sinking ship around.

Apparently, you have a relatively short attention span and find it convenient to forget what a mess the dims made of the country when the WERE in power! Think Carter, Clinton and the House and Senate when the dims were the majority. The people got sick of them and voted them out en masse.
That's why you find yourself on the outside looking in, numbnuts!
ZOT!

The GOP does not have the guts to stand up to the labor unions. The media will certainly fricasse them if they do. The court's have already ruled that its unconstitutional to restrict union political acitivies, so with campaign finance reform, they are the only direct donation game in town, and they brag every election cycle that they give in excess of $100,000,000 in donations to the Dems. The Dems won't have any difficulty repaying them for that contribution, if they take power.
Nor will they have any difficulty allowing the tax cuts to expire. The only good thing about that is that it won't happen until 08, but the mere anticipation might act as a damper on the economy.
To: Polliwag
I've got a better idea. Let's just tax the stupid people! Have a stupidity tax- (with a special surtax for voters like Polliwag).
To: sauropod
My fault. I did not make it obvious enough. After yesterday on the "stay home Conservatives thread", I needed some humor. I failed.
We good guys have to stick together!

I think you only have to go so far as to read their comments to the media, the speeches before the UN General Assembly, to see that Chavez and Ahmadinejad are regurgitating RAT talking points about our great POTUS. Is there anyone out there that doesn't believe that the "dear leader" in the worker's paradise of North Korea would rather be dealing with the weak and spineless Madame Albright, than the tough-minded Condi Rice? I believe any objective observer would conclude that the America's enemies would rather have the anti-American left crafting public policy in America, than the pro-American center-right party.
As Eric Blair once said, "There are some truths that are so obvious that you need a particular kind of intelligence to stop you from seeing it."

Moron. Never, EVER vote Democrat. Vote LP or Constitution if you don't trust your RINO... but NEVER cast a vote for a socialist.
Don't even friggin' joke about it.

What a hypocrite
I stand by my post at #20, and you will note that Sauropod wasn't called any names like 'bozo' or 'ass' or anything like that, it was subtly suggested by yours truly that Sauropod was bleeding from his heart, like a classic bleeding heart liberal, in his defense of a troll that got banned.
Sauropod, apparently unable to take the heat, began the adhominem name calling (and continued in fact), so if you call that hypocrisy, so be it. Now you Buford, seem to be suffering from a case of premature exasperation.
Try taking a deep breath and think of something relaxing.

You shouldn't go around pointing out the specks in other people's eyes w/o removing the beam from your own.
Not applicable. You will note that I don't defend trolls.
Apparently, you do.

I really do not know how to respond to the personal attacks you vented on me, but I hope you will now know that I was not calling you any name, and I chalk your remarks up to misguded anger.

It would seem that Sauropod has the need for a good anger management course. Hey, in his frustrated little world, I'm a 'bozo' and an 'ass', and you're a 'moron'. Now your post may indeed have been tongue-in-cheek about S-pod belonging at DU, but one sees more namecalling over there than here at FR.
That by itself is notable.

The GOP does not have the guts to stand up to the labor unions. Well, I haven't independently verified it, but MNJohnnie posted a nice list of Republican accomplishments yesterday. One of the items that stood out was the part about hundreds(it may have been thousands) of labor union bosses being prosecuted for corruption.

And S-Pod? Have a good rest of the day and a good weekend. It can't be easy for you, living in the Peoples Republic of Maryland, I did that myself for too many years.
