By today's standards, they would be considered more tough on defence and conservative in tax policy than many "conservatives".
A party so classically wrong about so many issues should not be given power.

You and I are on the same page AFA voting straight R.
I will never, ever, ever, ever vote for a 'Rat.
Third party maybe, but never a 'Rat.
First, they don't have to do anything to increase taxes. All they've gotta do is let the Bush tax cuts expire in 08, as they're scheduled to do.
Second, I predict that the Dems will spend the next several years paying Big Labor off for their support. By the time they're done, the US economy will be a Mexican or EU style disaster. They are already trying to help Big Labor unionize Wal-Mart.
Big Labor destroys every industry it touches. Look at the railroads, the steel industry, Big 3 autos, textiles, furniture, and manufacturing in general. Even the education system.
Proof that there are lots of non-conservative plants on the forum. Sign up dates are meaningless in that regard.
I agree that what you are saying is what they WANT to do, but wanting to do something and actually doing it in Washington are two very different things.
Remember the Contract with America and 1994? The Pubbies came in fired up and with a mandate only to be quashed by the veto pen and countless obstructionary and stalling tactics.
Do you expect even a minority GOP to just roll over and play dead to the Donks?
At the end of the day the Rats will only be able to more effectively do nothing.
And, they will be able to investigate the adminstration.
In my opinion there are some things out there worthy of investigation - mostly regarding the allocation of resources and poor decision-making. Unfortuantely, my guess is they will focus on the moonbat conspiracies and Bush will employ all of the stalling tactics that Clinton perfected.
A RAT congress means gridlock and investigations. But it will also mean that the RATS will have to at least come up with some ideas and we all know that they have none.
14 replies and just this one post since 4-18-04, definitely a sleeper.
The media has a love affair with communist dictators
You shouldn't go around pointing out the specks in other people's eyes w/o removing the beam from your own.
Bingo. He's also being laughed at currently on Clown Pussy.
Maybe I missed something...but speaking of pussy, what ever happened to the Viking Kitties? Shouldn't they be here at a time like this?
They DID! Or at the very least, made it possible for the several states to do so.
Unfortunately, the lowest common denominator has gotten a lot lower since then...
Please re-read my tongue-in-cheek post again. Yes, I really don't like to read what comes out of my TV every day (it just gets old), but my comment was 90% teasing.
I did not say you belong on DU, and by telling you to clean your computer after visiting DU; I thought it would indicate that I don't think that you hang out there... and cleaning your computer before coming back, was an obvious statement that you were wanted back here. I should have put a winky after the post.
I really do not know how to respond to the personal attacks you vented on me, but I hope you will now know that I was not calling you any name, and I chalk your remarks up to misguded anger.

I can say without an iota of hesitation or regret that you are a damn fool.
That was a pretty weak response. The comment was about these guys supporting Democrats. Which I assume to mean politicians. Dan Rather, while perhaps a democrat (if not an outright communist), is not a politician. So the pictures are pointless at best or, if you want guilt by association, you clearly are not a Rumsfeld fan given his photos with Saddamm.
The charge about Kim and the Iranians appears to be just added for good measure then since you have not even bothered to tackle that subject.
On the other hand, the European leaders DO actively support democrats and even have said so in a not-too-subtle manner.
