I agree that what you are saying is what they WANT to do, but wanting to do something and actually doing it in Washington are two very different things.

Remember the Contract with America and 1994? The Pubbies came in fired up and with a mandate only to be quashed by the veto pen and countless obstructionary and stalling tactics.

Do you expect even a minority GOP to just roll over and play dead to the Donks?

At the end of the day the Rats will only be able to more effectively do nothing.

And, they will be able to investigate the adminstration.

In my opinion there are some things out there worthy of investigation - mostly regarding the allocation of resources and poor decision-making. Unfortuantely, my guess is they will focus on the moonbat conspiracies and Bush will employ all of the stalling tactics that Clinton perfected.

A RAT congress means gridlock and investigations. But it will also mean that the RATS will have to at least come up with some ideas and we all know that they have none.

The GOP does not have the guts to stand up to the labor unions. The media will certainly fricasse them if they do. The court's have already ruled that its unconstitutional to restrict union political acitivies, so with campaign finance reform, they are the only direct donation game in town, and they brag every election cycle that they give in excess of $100,000,000 in donations to the Dems. The Dems won't have any difficulty repaying them for that contribution, if they take power.

Nor will they have any difficulty allowing the tax cuts to expire. The only good thing about that is that it won't happen until 08, but the mere anticipation might act as a damper on the economy.
