BULL CRAP! You've got to be kidding me! Okay folks, bookmark this threat. Katherine Harris beats Bill Nelson and my clothes come off at high noon on Dale Mabry.

It's not a poll. A straw poll is not a poll.

Watch how fast the Party runs back to her if this is truly the case. Pathetic concerning the Republican Party, but I'm glad for Rep. Harris!

Now wouldn't that be wonderful...Nelsen has been a senator so long, I'd be very surprised he can actually be beat [today...in Florida thanks to Jeb Bush, it's very hard to win an election through fraud as the dimwits have done in the past]. I'll pray Harris beats his socks off. ;o)

Well, well -- just goes to prove how bogus these polls are. Oooooh - the GOP is in trouble..... I think it's the other way around.

A straw poll at a political picnic? In Lakeland?
Well, it's all over now...

Why is it that I see ads for Nelson on TV constantly, but I haven't seen anything by Harris yet (Tampa Bay area)?

It's nice to see the only non-rino running in Florida doing well.

That is why the Dems are making this WWIII. They now they are getting killed and that is why they have gone nuclear because they are desperate.
Mark my words, the Republicans pick up seats in the House and Senate.

I've wanted to ask this for a while, so I guess this thread is as good a place as any.
Will Harris really finish as far behind Nelson as the polls indicate? I just dont believe it. Im not a Harris supporter, but I will vote for her because she is vastly superior to the alternative. I find it hard to believe that with Republicans far ahead in all the other statewide races that shell get trounced by as much as the polls say. Who are these people who vote R in all the other races and then vote for Nelson? I truly believe that this race will be MUCH closer than people think and it wouldnt surprise me if Harris wins.

I do not recall who said it, but Senator Nelson was most appropriaately described as "Senator Howdy Doody" by a FReeper who was ever so much more adroit with the English language than I.
Senator Howdy Doody Nelson should be, and I sincerely hope he will be, retired with prejudice next month.
C'mon, Floriduh voters, let's send this puppet back home!

OK, we all know how lame this is and how straw polls are meaningless (except for very unusual situations), but just stop for a minute.
Imagine, just for a moment, that the polls in this race are as bogus as the polls before the 2000, 2002 and 2006 elections. Wouldn't it just fry the noodle of everyone in the DNC and the drive by media if she won? And wouldn't it give the RINOs and self appointed inside the beltway "conservative" pundits reason to fear for their continued existence?
Just savor the notion for a moment.
OK, you can now return to reality.... but do not, under any circumstances forget what that moment felt like. Now, carry that notion with you when you go to vote, wherever you are. And no matter the odds, it might just happen, in your district and state and even, God willing, in Florida.
I will state, here and now, based on reports from a fellow Freeper who lives in Foley's old district, that the DBM is wrong about what's going to happen there. I now firmly believe that Negron is going to be the next congressman from that district. That conviction is what started me down this particular train of thought, about Harris and all of the other "done deals" that Chris Matthews and Katie Couric are trying to shove down our throats. I just don't buy it anymore, but it takes us all acting on that notion. Even if it's only to spite them, it's worth it.
