I am not out to PUNISH Hastert.. I have said it til I am blue in the face....

Ok, I believe you. So if you don't want him punished, then stop with the death by a thousand papercuts treatment.

We are on the same side, I am sure of that, I just don't think this non-scandal scandal is a real scandal. So, no scandal, no villain. (except the creepy pervert Foley who committed no crime it appears except for being a closeted Democrat).

These are the same machines made in Venezuela that were used to elect Chavez in the recall election (the one Carter certified). They claim the programming on these machines is properitary info and they won't disclose the details. Some states have dumped them, IMHO all should dump them.

What we do here works just fine and no hanging chads, just fill in the circle with a black pen and run the ballot through a scanning machine. Works for me. KISS.

There is a blackmail component to this story, but I don't see Fordham's actions to be consistent with being the blackmailer...unless I am missing ALOT here (which is totally possible....LOL!)

I have always seen him as a blackmail victim being used by folks like Mike Rogers.  He's already "out" so that's not it, but we know that Rogers (and friends) is fond of blackmailing people for political gain.  There may be other things in Fordham's past beyond being gay (Child molestation?  Drug use? Having been blackmailed into helping China or Al Qaeda years ago? The field is wide open)  that would make him still vulnerable to blackmail.  A blackmailer who uses someones secret about their sexuality is not averse to using anything else they come across.

Fordham and every other page or aid or anyone else who comes forward needs to be investigated in a big way.  So does Mike Rogers.

Too true. Someone made a comment on (I believe it was O'Reilly) Friday night that 10 years ago a story like this would have been ignored by both the GOP and the Dems and not used to beat the other party over the head.

Politics in this country has truly become a blood sport.

in a lot of areas "we" are just not running good campaigns.

That's because "we," you and I and other Freepers, are not the ones running these campaigns.  And that's because we didn't get involved years ago, particularly right after the 2004 election.

November 8th I'm going to start working on the 2008 congressional, senatorial and presidential races, getting involved in the day to day BS of the party.  We owe it to our country.

It's obvious we're smarter and better than the guys on our side doing it now.  The difference is they're doing it and we're talking about it.

Like this story that came out today...about some ex-page saying that he has had sex with Foley..

He said he just got e-mails while he was a page...but after leaving Washington, and AFTER he reached 21, he and Foley had sex.

My take???

So what? He obviously knew what he was getting into with Foley...and he was over 21.....so this makes NO difference to this case at all...besides, just like with everything else in this case...WHERE IS THE PROOF????

I read on another thread that Rogers left the democratic party because they wouldn't out the gays on Capital Hill and he is part of the green party now. Does that mean Soros is a greenie, too?

If one reads or believes the National Inquirer she should be on the list.

I'm beginning to get a good feeling.

We often forget that news cycles rule the msm/dbm. Whatever is hot is hot, and it can change on a dime, a breaking story can put foley et all in the background in a heartbeat and any one here who thinks 500 congress critters will all be elected based on foley is smoking the wrong weed.

I would say that the Republicans came out winners on Fox News Sunday's show. Alas, dimocrats!

Looks to me like Ford is going to pull it out in Tennessee because he's run a smart campaign.....

I don't think that's going to happen. I lived in Tennessee 15 years, was well acquainted with Memphis politics, and Ford could get elected to his Rep job until the cows come home. Local you know.

Statewide, I don't think this will ever happen.

You got to learn to be a bit more positive. The only poll that matters will be taken on Nov 7th.

:-)

I can't understand Santorum's lousy showing in the polls for the life of me! I have seen and or heard him numerous times and he is right on point and message, I just don't get it.
