Three More Former Pages Accuse Foley of Online Sexual Approaches
ABC News Blog ^

Posted on 10/05/2006 2:45:06 PM PDT by mmyers

Three more former congressional pages have come forward to reveal what they call "sexual approaches" over the Internet from former Congressman Mark Foley.

The pages served in the classes of 1998, 2000 and 2002. They independently approached ABC News after the Foley resignation through the Brian Ross & the Investigative Team's tip line on ABCNews.com. None wanted their names used because of the sensitive nature of the communications.

"I was seventeen years old and just returned to [my home state] when Foley began to e-mail me, asking if I had ever seen my page roommates naked and how big their penises were," said the page in the 2002 class.

The former page also said Foley told him that if he happened to be in Washington, D.C., he could stay at Foley's home if he "would engage in oral sex" with Foley.

THE BLOTTER RECOMMENDS READER DISCRETION STRONGLY ADVISED: Foley's Exchange with Underage Page Foley Instant Message Chat While Waiting for a House Vote Click Here to Watch This Week's Brian Ross Investigates Webcast The page told ABC News he was interviewed this week by FBI agents who had a six-page list of questions about Foley and the exchanges.

The second page who talked with ABC News, a graduate of the 2000 page class, says Foley actually visited the old page dorm and offered rides to events in his BMW.

"His e-mails developed into sexually explicit conversations, and he asked me for photographs of my erect penis," the former page said.

The page said Foley maintained e-mail contact with him even after he started college and arranged a sexual liaison after the page had turned 18.

The third page interviewed by ABC News, a graduate of the 1998 page class, said Foley's instant messages began while he was a senior in high school.

"Foley would say he was sitting in his boxers and ask what I was wearing," the page said.

"It became more weird, and I stopped responding," the page said.

All three pages described similar instant message and e-mail patterns, with remarkably similar escalations of provocative questions.

"He didn't want to talk about politics," the page said. "He wanted to talk about sex or my penis," the page said.

The three new verbal accounts are in addition to two sets of sexually explicit instant messages provided to ABC News by former pages.

An online story on the Drudge Report Thursday claimed one set of the sexually explicit instant messages obtained by ABC News was part of a "prank" on the part of the former page, who reportedly says he goaded the congressman into writing the messages.

"This was no prank," said one of the three former pages who talked to ABC News today about his experience with the congressman.

What cheeses me is now all major media will lead with something like "3 more pages come forward in Republican sex scandal!!!."

It's basically whipping a dead horse at this point, Foley is gone, but it allows them to keep putting the words "Republican" "Sex" and "Scandal" in front of John Q. Public's eyes prior to the big elections

The wrongdoing by Foley is that he should not be doing this with pages, even if they are just over age. BUT it is true no crime was committed, and once they are over age they are engaging in something the democrats defend as an absolute right. IMHO this story has now become almost total BS.

And yet there are deranged FReepers calling Foley an innocent victim and wishing he could un-resign.

"The media is the anti-christ or form of it!"

The news media is a top candidate for the "harlot" spoken of in Revelations.

I'm glad to see the FBI has not wasted any time.

Excuse me, the people who would hang Foley without any proof are the ones who need help.

I think they're lying.

Let's see them on camera. Let's see some proof.

Funny thing is that I don't think that Foley will ever get to face his accusers. Personally, I don't believe there are any. These could be more figments of Brian Ross' imagination, just like the two earlier 'victims' which were concocted by Brian Ross who has been acting like some neglected woman in l'affaire de Folie.

ABC has turned this into something with all the dignity and solemnity of the Salem witch trials. Or a Soviet purge.

makes me wonder if they had "emails" ready to go (probably on Friday afternoon) but decided to go with "verbal accounts" instead after Edmund was found out.

I'm not deranged and I'm not calling for him to resign. I am suspicious of the swiftness with which this stage play is coming to fruition at a moment's notice. Foley is a deviant and it's good he's gone. I remind you his formative political years was as a Democrat where I might add that his peers condoned his behavior.

But it's ok to make anonymous smears of others.

"He wanted to talk about sex or my penis."

Sounds like the kind of phone sex conversations DIRT-X-POTUS42 used to have (has?).

The FBI, or whoever is investigating this circus, can find out who they are or ask a judge to put ABC "journalists" in jail until they talk.

The major news networks are now in "All Foley,All The Time!" mode. It is actually quite embarrassing to watch this pack of rabid news libs falling all over themselves to report anything on this "story." What crap!

Election time=unwatchable news!

The Democrats/Mediarats: backhandedly helping to elect Republicans this year, as well as to get Defense of Marriage amendments passed and in general, halt the advances of the militant homosexually obsessed.

Actually, I'm intrigued that Democrats are voicing their "outrage" over Foley's interactions with 4 consenting gay adults (i.e. above age of consent).

I suspect that they will later regret their current gay outing, gay baiting, and posturing.

Well, you have to remember that Rush's record as a predictor of elections has been very short of stellar. (There's a reason he's a commentator and not a politician....he'd be awful at it!) His instincts are for entertainment based impact, not for political wisdom. Remember, he's the one who assured everyone that Hillary would never run for Senate and that if she did, it would be close. I haven't heard him sound this frantic and desparate since 1998 when Gingrich and Lott were assuming that, because of historical trends they were going to pick up 20-30 seats without having to push an agenda. This was also the time when Rush was also trumpeting the death of the Democratic Party and the mainstream press. After the Pubbies got their heads handed to them and hung on with a bare majority in the House we didn't hear that anymore, until about 2 years ago.

I don't think the GOP leadership knew about any of this

I don't know Dennis Hastert personally, but there are decent, heterosexual men in this world and he strikes me as one. I believe if he had gotten a whiff of this, he would have taken immediate action against Foley.
