Three More Former Pages Accuse Foley of Online Sexual Approaches
ABC News Blog ^

Posted on 10/05/2006 2:45:06 PM PDT by mmyers

Three more former congressional pages have come forward to reveal what they call "sexual approaches" over the Internet from former Congressman Mark Foley.

The pages served in the classes of 1998, 2000 and 2002. They independently approached ABC News after the Foley resignation through the Brian Ross & the Investigative Team's tip line on ABCNews.com. None wanted their names used because of the sensitive nature of the communications.

"I was seventeen years old and just returned to [my home state] when Foley began to e-mail me, asking if I had ever seen my page roommates naked and how big their penises were," said the page in the 2002 class.

The former page also said Foley told him that if he happened to be in Washington, D.C., he could stay at Foley's home if he "would engage in oral sex" with Foley.

THE BLOTTER RECOMMENDS READER DISCRETION STRONGLY ADVISED: Foley's Exchange with Underage Page Foley Instant Message Chat While Waiting for a House Vote Click Here to Watch This Week's Brian Ross Investigates Webcast The page told ABC News he was interviewed this week by FBI agents who had a six-page list of questions about Foley and the exchanges.

The second page who talked with ABC News, a graduate of the 2000 page class, says Foley actually visited the old page dorm and offered rides to events in his BMW.

"His e-mails developed into sexually explicit conversations, and he asked me for photographs of my erect penis," the former page said.

The page said Foley maintained e-mail contact with him even after he started college and arranged a sexual liaison after the page had turned 18.

The third page interviewed by ABC News, a graduate of the 1998 page class, said Foley's instant messages began while he was a senior in high school.

"Foley would say he was sitting in his boxers and ask what I was wearing," the page said.

"It became more weird, and I stopped responding," the page said.

All three pages described similar instant message and e-mail patterns, with remarkably similar escalations of provocative questions.

"He didn't want to talk about politics," the page said. "He wanted to talk about sex or my penis," the page said.

The three new verbal accounts are in addition to two sets of sexually explicit instant messages provided to ABC News by former pages.

An online story on the Drudge Report Thursday claimed one set of the sexually explicit instant messages obtained by ABC News was part of a "prank" on the part of the former page, who reportedly says he goaded the congressman into writing the messages.

"This was no prank," said one of the three former pages who talked to ABC News today about his experience with the congressman.

"This was no prank," said one of the three former pages who talked to ABC News today about his experience with the congressman.

How convenient that one of them said that only a matter of hours after Drudge broke that news.

Note that they don't even bother to claim that Hastert knew any of this, hoping that the MSM will just continue to conflate everything into one big anti-Republican pogrom.

I guess I must be a member of a real minority... I don't care about Foley or the pages or who plays with who's whatever. It ain't any of my business! On top of that, I still don't really know whether he has a "D" or an "R" after his name and - once again - I don't care! So could we please stop worrying about who he wants to play with and get to something important, like whether or not the Muslims are going to attack us anytime soon?

It's all a measured plan to try and suppress the conservative base. This story is not geared towards affecting the gay community vote, its to try and get the base to stay home. It is unraveling on them and they are now trying to do damage control to try and get their intended message back on track.

"Verbal accounts" told me the head of ABC News likes to bugger sheep. See, this "verbal accounts" stuff is bulletproof!

Foley was a predator whether or not one believes the other page's "I'm not gay - it was a prank" defense.

He is only a predator if the pages were underaged. If they were legal adults, then Foley is only guilty of being a creepy middled aged man trying to score with a very young adult, and since the sex lives of consenting adults is no one leses business (thank-you Bill Clinton), there really is nothing to see here.

Do they have emails from these guys or just hearsay??

No, they are "verbal accounts."

So I can just call and tell them the same thing and they will believe me??

"I want to see the explanation for these boys not turning Foley in when this happened."

They weren't "boys." They were 18 year old men (2 above, plus Edmund). The last was 17.

All above the age of consent. All of age to enlist in the Marines.

Ever wonder how much money the DNC is paying these little creeps to suddenly come out with this timely information?

ABC still hasn't reported the news that the now identified page has hired a big time defense lawyer.

Sounds like Edmond (the "prankster") was needed to create an IM paper trail to support earlier "verbal" complaints where no paper trail or formal complaints existed.

It is, isn't it? Who, is the story is true, says this isn't a "prank" hours after Drudge unless they've been fed a Dem talking point? I doubt IF true they just accidentally stumbled onto the Drudge report a couple hours ago and innocently chose to use that word.

At very least they've been fed Dem talking points, if it were true.

The base yes. Middle America - maybe not...

This is indeed a scandal, but the whole Hastert thing is a press manufactured secondary scandal to escalate it by the press - the one that carries the most danger.

"It became more weird, and I stopped responding," the page said."

So if he stopped responding when it became more weird then it wasn't weird enough before so what's the problem?

No ages no names etc. They'll be sure to avoid divulging any info that might lead to someone actually checking the 'facts' of their story.

I have no idea what they have. I can't imagine everyone keeps IM's and Emails for years. It seems like a calculated drip drip drip of more stuff on Foley.

No, it's worse....I call SHENNAIGANS!!

There's a former page of 10 years (first name Vivian) that's been out 'shopping' his story here in Atlanta that has a whole line of bullshit. Examination (per the Kimmer here) of the collection of his appearances on shows (radio) yields multiple contradictory points...

The first rule of political naivete that is violated is that most decent, honest, and honorable people (conservative or otherwise) neglect to understand that a damn Democrat WILL LIE, WILL CHEAT, WILL STEAL, WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY, YOUR LIFE and YOUR CHILDRENS' LIVES if you let them, period.
