I worked in the Istook Campaign in Oklahoma City. One of my co-workers was Jordan Edmund. I actually didn't get to know him all that well, but everything I saw and heard about him indicated that he was not gay. He basically behaved like your standard frat boy. His facebook account no longer exist. If he was part of some prank, I didn't know about it. Jordan came from CA long before I arrived and was there when I left. Jordan was a hard worker and didn't loose his temper or anything like that. He mainly talked about Berkley and seemed to be easy going. He does seem like the kind of guy that would pull a prank.
I have no beef with him or the Istook Campaign. I believe that Istook would be a much better Governor than Brad Henry, especially on the issue of illegal immigration. Henry signed an in-state tuition for illegals law while Istook has been fighting against illegal immigration as a Congressman. That is why I went to work for him.
Perhaps you should have listened closely to what he said about "Berkley."
This post appears contrived to CYA, in my opinion.
That a bill granting illegals in-state tuition even reached the governor's desk is a sign that Henry isn't the only problem. Still, it'd be great if he lost.

You can't always tell if someone is gay just by looking at them. I've been very surprised in that past. You admit you didn't know him well. I guess that would explain why he didn't tell you about the prank. I'm sure it's not something that he advertised.

The FBI is investigating. Doesn't mean anyone is "guilty" or not, it's easy to get tripped up by the Feds.
It's a scandal about gaydar.
A frat prank gone bad. A sniggering 18 year old frat boy enticed a booze-soaked middle-aged gay man into sending pathetic and salacious lustful IMs so the whole frat boy crew could laugh themselves sick.
And the MSM and Democrats cynically manipulated and refashioned the prank into the myth of the cherubic prepubescent 12 year old page preyed upon by a cunning and powerful Republican pedophile.

I don't know anything of Mr. Edmund, but this ripping on him for having attended UC Berkeley, one of the most notable and prestigious public Universities in the nation, is misplaced.
UC Berkeley is a haven for leftists. So are Harvard, Yale, University of Wisconsin, University of Kansas in Lawrence, Brown, Columbia, etc. UC Berkeley also has many moderates and Conservatives among the student body.
Yeah, we all know that UC Berkeley isn't Baylor or Liberty University. But attendance at UC Berkeley alone does not make one a surefire liberal "gay-mafia" conspirator any more than attending most major top-100 Universities in the USA.
FWIW, I did not attend UC Berkeley, and I find the area around the school to be decidedly unpleaseant. I really have no affinity for UCB, but find this particular argument to be missing the point about the liberal state of college education in our country.

His MySpace page certainly gave the impression that he was a jerk...and not very bright given what he posted there.
But I think now they're trying to turn it into the case of the evil, gaybashing young conservatives who were getting their jollies making fun of a gay man.
From the Drudge post, it appears that others in the campaign who knew Jordan Edmund did know about is 'little prank' - he's toast politically, if not criminally, and so is any one around him.
The truly evil never run out of lies, never lack a trick.
