I can't wait for the conspiracy theories now..rove managed to plant the story of the "underage" page, which the dems jumped on without checking facts, only to find out he was much older and no crime took place, leaving the dems with egg on their face and having to now either "accept" the behavior OR pi*s off the gay crowd..(as an aside, the GOP gets rid of a gay before something truly bad comes out)..

This is just one of the guys; this is not the guy from the southeast.

However, he is one of the accusers whose postings ended up on ABC News. They forgot to redact one of his names.

He also works for Rep. Istook. I won't go so far as to say he is an operative, but this guy did a terrible thing by releasing this now and may seriously hurt the GOP, and I hope he is fired.

Another freeper knows him and says he is a creep capable of dirty tricks.

Neither do we have proof the page or ex page was underage, just Brian Ross' word. Besides, as much as I've read about this story, I didn't hear anyone say the Ims were to someone who was close to being 18. What I came away with in reading the initial IMs was that you had 2 guys who were willingly chatting about guy stuff, to put it delicately.

As an aside, I am not looking for a loophole, but when was the law go into effect about "cybersex"? Because as far as I have seen, regardless of how old this kid is, or was, there are no IM's from after 2003? If the law was signed into law after that, doesn't that shield him?

But I am still confused. Give me dates. I don't see where he was over 18 when some of the IMs were sent. If the IMs occurred when he was under 18, then Foley is guilty.

In DC it is 16. I'm not sure what it is in Florida, but there's also federal laws that apply to Internet communications that set the age for some things at 18.
