Spanish villages are abandoning the centuries-old tradition of burning effigies of the Prophet Muhammad for fear of offending Muslims.
The annual festivals...feature locals donning medieval costumes to re-enact battles between "Moors and Christians" during the Reconquista period.
The fiestas celebrate events in 1492, when the Catholic kings of northern Spain defeated and expelled Islamic forces, ending more than 800 years of Moorish rule in the Iberian Peninsula.
Traditionally the festivities have culminated with the burning of mannequins of the Mahoma, a figure based on the Prophet Muhammad, to represent the final defeat of Islam in the region.

Instead of burning Mohammed in effigy, they can do something more in line with Islam, like blowing up a train full of people.

I happened to see part of a SciFi film last night about genetically altered scorpions loose on a plane...and was amazed to see Muslims used as comic relief of all things! They weren't the bad guys, heaven forbid. Just standing in for the old Stepp-in-fetchit role. Surely they'll be offended when they figure out they 'got no respect'.

A more plausible storyline would run like this:
PC blue state government forces attacking the red state militias for fighting the Islamic militiants who are wiping out the PC blue state government forces.
A love triangle, of sorts, where everyone is only fighting the people who aren't fighting them.

Las Fallas is a festival in Valencia when they parade these huge and beautiful sculptures in the streets, and then burn them right in town.
