I guess they figure their heritage is not worth outraging the muzzies over.

An infidel breathing outrages a mohammedan somewhere.

If they want to keep from offending one of mohammeds mad monkeys, they really need to stop that annoying habit.

The thing is that Western Europe is getting taken over by Islamists, Western Europe is neutral, and Russia will have an even stronger set of allies to its west (Except Poland). We are also dealing with a Hispanic socialist invasion. Meanwhile, Russia/CIS/China arm against us.

My brother, who is a WWII buff wondered aloud once what it must have been like living in Europe in the mid 1930s.

I told him to take a good hard look around.

He got real quiet for a while.

Talking about somebody using a nuclear bomb use to be something so intangible, something you just said or joked about.

Now I wonder what my reaction is going to be.

It's going to happen my friend. It's inevitable. The 'club' has gone from a couple of reasonably rational members to a larger collection of assorted nutcases who simply do not think the way we do.

Think of a Hamas suicide bomber writ larger by a factor of 10,000 or so.

It may not happen here in the US. The FBI and NEST are mostly pretty competent. Well NEST is mostly competent. I have serious doubts about the FBI.

It's not going to be long before some Russian mafioso or Chechen nutbag gets their hands on a critical mass of something fissionable and sells it. In spite of the mealy mouthed assurances of think tanks and government spokes-droids, building one of these devices isn't all that difficult technically.

Size is a concern but a rudimentary device would fit into a mid sized cargo truck quite easily.

From there it's just pick a nice fat complacent soft target and you're only one 'allah akbar' away from a real crap storm.

The reaction when it happens is going to be very, very ugly.

L P.S. Freepmail on the way.

Lacking the ability to project U.S. naval force in the Mediterranean, America tried appeasement. In 1784, Congress agreed to fund tributes and ransoms in order to rescue U.S. ships and buy the freedom of enslaved American sailors.

In 1786, Thomas Jefferson, then U.S. ambassador to France, and John Adams, then American Ambassador to Britain, met in London with Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja, the Dey’s ambassador to Britain, in an attempt to negotiate a peace treaty based on Congress’ vote of funding. To Congress, these two future presidents later reported the reasons for the Muslims’ hostility towards America, a nation with which they had no previous contacts.

…that it was founded on the Laws of their Prophet, that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as Prisoners, and that every Musselman (Muslim) who should be slain in Battle was sure to go to Paradise.

And the Muslims? By 1800, the annual tribute and ransom payments first agreed in the mid-1780s amounted to about $1 million--20% of the federal budget. (For fiscal year 2007, 20 percent of U.S. revenues would equal $560 billion.)

In May, 1801 Yussif Karamanli, the Pasha of Tripoli, declared war on America by chopping down the flagpole in front of the U.S. Consulate. Seventeen years after appeasement and tribute payments had begun, President Thomas Jefferson led America into the First Barbary War.

From May of 1801 to June 10, 1805, sailors and Marines of the young American nation fought battles immortalized in a line of the Marine Hymn: “to the shores of Tripoli.”

As American forces approached Tripoli on land threatening to capture it, Karamanli suddenly became interested in negotiations. The war ended with a treaty exchanging prisoners, Americans giving Karamanli another $60,000 in ransom and an agreement from the Muslims to cease attacks on U.S. ships.

But for a Muslim to keep his word to an infidel at the expense of opportunities to expand Islamic power is the Islamic equivalent of a mortal sin. In 1807, Muslim pirate attacks on American ships began anew.

As a result Americans led by President James Madison fought Algerians in the Second Barbary War in 1815, leading to another treaty under which the Muslims paid American $10,000 for damages.

The Algerian ruler almost immediately repudiated the new treaty after the U.S. departure and again began piracy and the enslavement of captured Christian sailors necessitating an 1816 Anglo-Dutch shelling of Algiers and ultimately the colonization of Algeria in 1830 and Tunisia in 1881 by France and Libya in 1911 by Italy.

Unlike Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism, Jainism, Zarathustrianism, Shintoism and Confucianism I think islam could ultimately be defined as a form of atheism.

I say this because islam stands alone as pertains to the Common Notions.  Where the nine faiths I listed (and a few I'm forgetting) all share certain fundamental understandings of The Infinite that lead to common concepts of morality that are the same from one faith to the next, islam does not share those understandings of universal moral behavior.

Where the nine faiths explicitly prohibit and/or decry dishonestly, islam accepts it when a muslim is dishonest to a non-muslim.  The Nine strictly prohibit murder.  Islam explicitly permits a muslim murdering a non-muslim in cold blood...if not in "cold blood" then muder for the crime of "not being a muslim."

There are other Common Notions not shared by islam but there's no reason to list them:  it would be redundant.

Suffice it to say that where Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism, Jainism, Zarathustrianism, Shintoism and Confucianism are all rivers leading to the same ocean, islam stands alone as a stink infested, stagnent swamp of skank.

Allah is not The Infinite followed by the worlds actual religions.  "Islam" is not a religion.  It's atheism that's so extreme that it appears to be a religion. You cannot, by definition, offend atheism.
