I don't see how the testing will prevent any spread of the disease. They're presupposing that if a person knows s/he/s positive s/he will refrain. That's a big stretch of the imagination, in my book.

Oh how nice. Another blood test, another $150 bill from the lab.
I think I'll pass.

Day late and dollar short.
THe CDC USED to notify sexual partners anonymously if someone tested positive for any of a number of venereal diseases but AIDS has always been Politically Protected.
Children who've been molested by infected men are at risk but not a lot of other 13 year olds.

Why?
Isn't AIDS a politically correct badge of honor anymore?
If one is interested in stamping out a disease, why not FIRST attack the source causes of the disease?
Why not outlaw GAY Bath/Whore Houses?
Why not strongly prosecute drug USERS, not just drug sellers.
Why not stop spending BILLIONS of taxpayer money on supporting and medicating drug addicted brain burned out dredges of society alive? Let nature take its course...
Once a person has been informed they have AIDS, why are they punished with a slap on the wrist for KNOWINGLY having sex with the unsuspecting? This is attempted murder!
Why must Medical workers in Hospitals not be WARNED they are dealing with an AIDS infected patient..
For decades -- this was not permitted, is it still the case?
Naaah, we're not interested in fighting AIDS.
The Gay Agenda is to have taxpayers finance their specific medical need due to their perverted choices..
F'em.....uh, never mind -- forget I said that.

I've been tested...
The VA does this for free and usually does not make it voluntary. They do it for other reasons, but it's a damn good idea. People need to know when they have any STD..

Patients would not get tested every year: Repeated, annual testing would only be recommended only for those at high risk. I'd be willing to bet a majority of the high risk population doesn't have a regular physician they see annually.

Patients would be allowed to decline the testing. For now.

"By identifying people earlier through a screening program, we'll allow them to access life-extending therapy, and also through prevention services, learn how to avoid transmitting HIV infection to others," he said. The last time I checked, the most effective way to prevent STD's is God's plan.........but liberal and socialist demonrats would rather die a thousand deaths, than admit that God is smarter than they are, and, that we are much better off when we construct our laws around His all knowing wisdom..............

I really don't why anyone would be against mandatory HIV testing for everyone in this country, other than its monetary cost. So far I've led a damn low-risk lifestyle, but I just don't see the downside. I'd take the test right now if someone was giving it for free.

HIV patient advocates meaning the gay lobby. I'll be dammed if i ever let any doctor force me to take an AIDS test, which are unreliable to begin with. The gay lobby and the AIDS drugs manufacturers need bigger numbers and more HIV patients to keep the big lie alive that AIDS is decimating the heterosexual population. Now you can have TB or Pneumonia and be classified as HIV pos. even if you test negative for AIDS anti-bodies!. Sounds like another government scam. AIDS is and always was a big lie, people die because of the behavior they engage in --- anal sex, hard drugs, over-use of anti-biotics and worst of all, doctor prescribed drugs that are supposed to stop AIDS. Leave us hetero-sexuals alone and work on the young men who believe their perversions are a "lifestyle".
