I love happy endings to these stories!!!!
As Barney Fife would say, "Andy, it's big!"
I hope this story is true. This is one bad, nasty, anti-American character.

Ditto!, I am really surprised especially after the announcement that Musharaf had made an agreement to stay out of the FTA in exchange for the "word" of the muj to not attack Paki military assets.
Smiling...this is news to me, but now that you say that...
Here is my latest link in Afghanistan that I posted on TM:

"Taliban Extremist Targets Funeral; Afghan, Coalition Forces Capture Terrorists"
American Forces Press Service
WASHINGTON, Sept. 11, 2006
So, I'll check tonight to see if a new release is online.
Apparently, this dude didn't believe in becoming a martyr.
It seems MOST of the "leaders" avoid becoming a martyr for as long as possible...
They prefer leaving the dying for the young, stupid or brainwashed.......
These lying hypocritical dudes KNOW there are no 72 virgins in Allah's paradise ---- They are HERE.

The reaction of the Democrats and the dinosaur media will be ... Who ??? and then...yawn.
Good work lads , great catch !
The capture isn't *that* good! That sort of result would be unexpected.
Heckmatyar would be in Osama's chain of couriers/messages, but it is a little doubtful that he'd know Bin Laden's current physical location.
Not out of the realm of possibilities, mind you, but a low percentage chance at best.
On the other hand, due to sheer geography, a capture of a courier in/near Heckmatyar could *easily* give up Osama's residence.
Is there any source besides this one to confirm it?
sorry guys, I just noticed others have pinged you all. My blunder.
HOO'AH
Superb! Another one bites the dust!
I think it's Pakistan. He was a favorite of the Pakistani intelligence service as I recall. He received the Lion's share of the aid that flowed through them during the war against the Soviets. He's one of the original Mujahideen and one the radical Islamists that had a big influence of the young Bin Laden. He was a rival of Masood.
Sure hope Rove and Bush bring OBL out of his cell for an October surprise.

"Hekmatyar, contrary to his rhetoric gave up to the Coalition forces without a fight."
I think the only ones to go down fighting were Saddam's boys. Big talk, no balls.
The Russians might a word with him when we are through....
