Primary polls aren't always as accurate as general election polls, but I think Cardin will probably pull this one out.

Still tough to decide which result would be better for Steele. On the one hand, the Democrats may lose some of the black vote if Mfume loses... but Cardin is a more articulate and "less crazy" candidate than Mfume.

Yeah but race peddlers must be relegated to the circus and not on my tv.

It would be better for him if Mfume won the primary

I want what is best for Michael.

He is my #1 priority in November.

There are pros and cons to both. I am still not willing to say which Democratic candidate would be easier to beat.

Realistically, it would be better to have Mfume win. He is seen as a bit of an extreme character. Cardin might be just wishy-washy enough to squeak one out in MD.

I'm pulling for Mfume. Either way, Steele has at least a shot at this, which is more than I thought many months ago.

"Steele will win either way" .

If he's anthing like RINO Bob Erlich , we're in trouble either way .

I don't think so. Maryland is a red state if you split the black vote. Can't wait to see what happens.

Is there some reason you didn't indicate the state, district, and office for this contest?

I'm not an O'Reilly groupie, but his mantra 'City and State, City and State, City and State' rings true here. Please people, when posting election information, or any story for that matter, make sure that the locale is properly identified.

Over 2000 illegal immigrants applying and getting drivers licences each week in Maryland , and the third highest illegal population in the USA . What is so hard to believe ???

Doesn't Cardin have a scandal brewing?

I've heard that lately too. And I know Baltimore City is CRAWLING with illegals. But the third most in the nation? Texas, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Florida? I don't know- but I know there is a bunch, they're everywhere.

Well he drew controversy for promising to cure cancer if elected... but other than that I don't know of anything.

I think it's pretty clear Cardin will be the tougher opponent for Steele. In head-to-head matchups against Steele, Cardin consistently outpolls Mfume by 5-10 points. Mfume/Steele matchups are usually virtual ties, while Cardin is usually shown with a small, but significant lead over Steele. Of course things can always change post-primary.

This will be interesting. Will Maryland's Black voters be happy about cardin stepping in and taking this nomination? If Steele gets 25% of the Black vote he will be in position to win.
