US network ABC aired "documdrama" The Path to 9/11, despite angry claims by aides to former president Bill Clinton that it unfairly tarred his record on hunting terrorists.
Mr Clinton's camp complained the movie, the first part of which was shown on the eve of the fifth anniversary of the September 11 attacks, contained fabricated scenes and misrepresented the Democrat president as slow to chase down Osama bin Laden.
Ex-Clinton aides based criticisms on early previews of the movie, which they said inaccurately portrayed actions of senior figures such as former secretary of state Madeleine Albright and former national security advisor Sandy Berger.
Despite going ahead with the movie, ABC included a disclaimer before the opening scenes, which reappeared after the first 90 minutes, which said noted the presence of "fictionalised" scenes.
"The movie is not a documentary," the disclaimer read, adding that its action was drawn from a number of sources, including the independent report into the September 11 attacks, personal interviews and other published materials.
However, the movie did contain scenes critical of the Clinton administration. In one, Mr Berger was seen as unwilling to give the go-ahead on an operation to arrest bin Laden.
Mr Berger said in response to reports based on previews of the movie that such an incident never took place.

US network ABC aired docudrama The Path to 9/11, despite angry claims by aides to former "president" Bill Clinton that it unfairly tarred his "record" on hunting terrorists.
Much better.

You must not have watched it, yes it did.

Big deal! ABC cut scenes that showed Clinton's record on terrorism. This is ridiculous. I am sure no scenes were cut about Bush's short term as CIC on the second half of the show. The things the Dems said were lies are documented in several places, showing who the real liars are.

The only other anti-Clinton show that I have ever seen on Network TV is reruns of "Primary Colors".
The Clinton Legacy just hit the shredder tonight.

Mr Berger was seen as unwilling to give the go-ahead on an operation to arrest bin Laden. Where do they find these writers?
Anyway, it's good it's being shown. I wonder how much was cut.

I watched part 1 last night and quite liked how it tracked the events back to 1993.

I guess I should have phrased it better.
It did make BJ look bad, but it did cut several things that made him look like he was "preoccupied".
I admit that I was going back and forth between the football game.

I'm amazed they called it a "docudrama." It was more faithful to the historical events than Mikey "Cream Puff" Moore's "documentary," Fahrenheit 911. Moore's fiasco was more like a "docufantasy."

Harvey Keitel called him pathetic and then they cut to "I did not have sexual relations..."
Even after all I heard, I was surprised by that...

Just stopped by the DU site and they are blasting ABC, Disney and lists of sponsors. Many think the film was a Republican hack job. Look what else has the site all in a tight wad. (link below) At least we don't abort childen dummies...and we teach them about God, Jesus and the Bible. Find that a little too threatening to your dark nirvana?
