BUBBA GOES BALLISTIC ON ABC ABOUT ITS DAMNING 9/11 MOVIE
(demanding the network "pull the drama")

WASHINGTON - A furious Bill Clinton is warning ABC that its mini-series "The Path to 9/11" grossly misrepresents his pursuit of Osama bin Laden - and he is demanding the network "pull the drama" if changes aren't made. Clinton pointedly refuted several fictionalized scenes that he claims insinuate he was too distracted by the Monica Lewinsky sex scandal to care about bin Laden and that a top adviser pulled the plug on CIA operatives who were just moments away from bagging the terror master, according to a letter to ABC boss Bob Iger obtained by The Post.
The former president also disputed the portrayal of then-Secretary of State Madeleine Albright as having tipped off Pakistani officials that a strike was coming, giving bin Laden a chance to flee.
"The content of this drama is factually and incontrovertibly inaccurate and ABC has the duty to fully correct all errors or pull the drama entirely," the four-page letter said.
The movie is set to air on Sunday and Monday nights. Monday is the fifth anniversary of the attacks.
Based on the 9/11 commission's report, the miniseries is also being provided to high schools as a teaching aid - although ABC admits key scenes are dramatizations.
The letter, written by Bruce Lindsey, head of the Clinton Foundation, and Douglas Bond, a top lawyer in Clinton's office, accuses the ABC drama of "bias" and a "fictitious rewriting of history that will be misinterpreted by millions of Americans."
Clinton, whose aides first learned from a TV trailer about a week ago that the miniseries would slam his administration, was "surprised" and "incredulous" when told about the film's slant, sources said.

It depends on what the meaning of meaning is. And in Bubba's case, soon enough he'll depend on Depends

Prediction:
If the changes are made, then Clinton's power has been retained through his wife, and she will be the annointed one for the networks in 2008.
If the changes are not made, then it's a sign that she is out of favor with the media.

As I recall, many of the Senate Dems trooped off in a group to see Fahrenheit 911, unabashedly so as they made it a photo op. Now someone dares to show Clinton's culpability, to what extent we don't know as we haven't seen the thing, and they scream like stuck pigs. Hypocrites!

He should be happy, people are finally putting his wonderful legacy on film. It's not our fault he used his office as an escort service.

DUmmies have been on a e-mail campaign against ABC. Sending hundreds of e-mails to get them to pull it. Pathetic.

That's kinda how I look at most government screw ups but people from Clinton's own administration have been less than kind about his "fight against terrorism". He had 8 years of strobes flashing, bells ringing and sirens blowing all around him but chose to chase nonexistent right wing boogeymen.

I wouldn't be surprised. Do you remember which network did the Reagan movie and then pulled it because of protests?

Odd he didn't condemn the 9/11 Commission Report for saying much the same thing as this mini-series is purported to. Or did he just assume, rightly so, that few people would actually read it.

I always chuckle when someone on FR muses about that faux "war room", and slamming this Pres for not having one.
Clinton fooled even some of us, as any good used car salesman can do.
