What got me about the Russert denial (NOT under oath) is that Fitzgerald took his word for it AND did not require him to testify before the Grand Jury...but did require Rove to come before the GJ FIVE times, knowing all the time who the real leaker was. Unconscionable.

let's pretend that we are talking about a private sector business. Someone says something incredibly wrong.
Agreed. Except what was said that was "wrong" might have been a crime.
Once the Prez knew who disclosed it he was a witness, obligated to testify, and potentially a co-conspirator.
The MSM would demand..........the Howard Baker question be answered. "What did the Prez know and when did he know it?"

Oh good grief, all Schumer can say is that Republicans have no plan in Iraq. Then he accuses Pubbies of bringing up old chestnuts. What's an older chestnut than that the Administration has no plan.

If the President knew it, wouldn't he refer the case to Justice for prosecution and send Armitage home with pay until the investigation was completed?

Corn & Isikoff wrote a book on this. Fox & MSM calls Isikoff "senior investigative reporter".
The same MSM called Haditha incident "massacre of innocent civilians". While Isikoff was wrote that fake koran-gate story, innonent civilians [more than in Haditha] killed too. These soldiers while fighting for our Country while defending themselves collateral incidents do happen.
They faced inquiry & possible punishment. Isikoff faced any punishment?

We've all been saying this. It's been hard to argue with success, however, and the GOP powers-that-be claim we are doing fine the way it's being approached now. Until we lose, I don't see much change happening unless it's a ground swell coming from Freepers and other conservatives.
This happened with the Meiers nomination and the port deal, and could erupt over immigration. Or even from conservative 527's like Club for Growth. Otherwise, I don't see it happening before November.

I love the angst of the same people who rant and rave about Bush "raising Clintons stature" want him to act like a Talk Radio host and go trash talk every wack job critic and whiner. Gee really would be a good use of his time to raise the stature of every whiner and critic. I think Abraham Lincoln said it best why this tactic is so utterly futile.
"If I were to try to read, much less answer, all the attacks made on me, this shop might as well be closed for any other business. I do the very best I know how - the very best I can; and I mean to keep doing so until the end. If the end brings me out all right, what's said against me won't amount to anything. If the end brings me out wrong, ten angels swearing I was right would make no difference."
A President is President of ALL the people NOT just the Always Whining among the Conservatives. To want him to act like a Trash Talking Talk Radio host is politically stupid. Reagan NEVER got down in the gutter with his political foes. All that does is smear MORE mud over everyone INCLUDING the President. It is one of the reasons Clinton got NOTHING done. He was so busy worrying all the time about his PR he did NOTHING in 8 years.
The people who ARE suppose to be a President's Defenders spend ALL their time shooting AT him. Maybe instead of whining constantly for Bush to come save them, the always pouting Conservative Talking heads and Congress critters might get off their butts and DO THEIR JOB here?

Santorum is great; so well spoken and clear in his thought and presentation. Casey is squirley. Russert is a clymer.

Clinton is always behind the scenes IMHO. Here's another link to what bubba is up to:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1694196/posts
Seems Bubba is not too happy about ABC's "the path to 911" which exposes him big time. Our Starwise is always on the ball and provides this thread which totally blows him out of the water as he should be.
Seems the CIA and others had Ben laden surrounded in the mid 90's and when permission was asked by the CIA to take him out all they got was a phone hung up in their ear by Sandy the burglar after being told
they were on their own. This is hot stuff and could blow Bubba's wench right out of the water if it gets lots of play like it deserves.

If I recall correctly, Rove talked to that DNC mouthpiece at Time magazine-- Matt Cooper-- under "Deep Background" which in journalism means that "you cannot use or print it under any circumstances." Cooper and the MSM have buried that fact, and it alone is proof that it was not meant to out Plame, but rather to clarify Wilson's lies.

No punishment or even admitting they are wrong. All I know is I won't be buying their book, nor will most conservatives I know. We'll have to see but I'm sure their book will fall on deaf ears, just like their reporting.

I think you have a great point there but I would also say that he feels his judgment was questioned immensely by Iraq so it is one and the same.
