Sen. Hillary Clinton and former president Bill Clinton pose for pictures while making a stop at a sausage tent at the New York State Fair in Syracuse, N.Y., Friday, Sept. 1, 2006. Clinton made her annual pilgrimage to the fair at the end of a three-day swing through New York farm country. The trip has served to boost Clinton's visibility in the state's Finger Lakes wine region and other rural parts of central New York, a predominantly Republican region where she would need to do well if she runs for president in 2008. 60 days out to election - time to drag out the "x-PRes Hubby let's look like we're married, image"...
If New Yorkers think she's the best senator they could vote for, they might as well prepare for another terrorist attack! She sure as *ell won't help prevent one, that's for sure....

Since they've already mated, is it safe for him to be this close to her?

As an Upstate New Yorker, I can think of a LOT of folks I'd rather vote for as Senator. Problem is they aren't running... but that's me in Upstate. It's the City that will re-elect Hillary, not us hicks-in-the-sticks.

I love how the article said she will need upstate NY if she runs for President. Why? Don't know of any Republicans that expect to get NY's electoral votes.

Hillary (or any Dem) needs Upstate like I need an extra butt. We couldn't swing NY State over to the Rep side unless we cut NYC loose. Before 9/11 there was considerable Upstate sentiment in that direction, but since the attacks it's not as fashionable. Nevertheless, we could get much better representation up here if we weren't forced to drag the around in the shadow of The City.

It's impossible to see where her other hand really is. Not quite impossible -- it's just over his left love-handle. Or at least one finger of it is. But I agree it's more fun to speculate...

Just to let you know, NOBODY dresses this way in Central New York. She's supposed to represent us, but evidently thinks we're a bunch of hayseeds. Bill quipped the other day that he asked her when she was elected what the duties of a Senate spouse are. He says she said there was only one--to attend the State Fair once a year to remind people that she'd married a redneck. Ha. Ha.
