Webb Ahead of Allen in Latest Poll (47.9% - 46.6% = Load of Zogby Macaca)

WASHINGTON -- The Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in Virginia has pulled ahead of his incumbent opponent.

According to an independent Wall Street Journal/Zogby poll, Jim Webb is leading over Republican Senator George Allen.

The poll puts Webb at 47.9 percent and Allen at 46.6 percent.

The new poll shows a 12 point swing since mid-July, when Zogby had Senator Allen leading over Webb by 11 points.

The Wall Street Journal reports that John Zogby attributes the swing to comments that Allen made on August 11.

During a campaign rally, Allen called a rival campaign worker of Indian descent "macaca," which is a word that refers to a genus of monkeys, but can also be considered an insult.

Video of the event was posted online, and Allen was criticized for his behavior.

Allen said he had made up the word and later apologized.

The poll was conducted from August 15 - 21 and has a margin of error of 3.2 percent.

Its going to be a close race in Ohio, the margin of error in that poll is ±4.5%.

That doesn't sound unreasonable to me.

He'd have jumped ahead by 20 points if he would have just told the Media and the little prick filming him to go pound sand instead of apologizing profusely. If he loses it will becuase he lost his spine.

He then went on to call 311 electoral votes for Kerry on election day.

His regular polls aren't that bad, but his "interactive" internet polls are just complete garbage.

I do not know how fictional these numbers are. Probably very fictional, but if Allen and his people are looking past Jim Webb they are making a very serious mistake. He's not the kind of Democrat that's going to please the moonbats and Hezbocrats who support Lamont. He is or purports to be the kind of Demcrat that used to exist in large numbers before 1972. He's a political descendant of Scoop Jackson and Pat Moynihan. His Virginia roots go back before the Revolution and his ancestors fought under the St. Andrew's Cross of the Rebel Battle Flag. A past he revels in rather than hides. Unless Allen can tar Webb as a moonbat, he faces a real challenge here.

Zogby poll? Is this the same Zogby who says that 89.2% of Americans distrust the "International Zionist Conspiracy" and want Israel destroyed? ROLFLMAO!

"I hope Webb gets his @ss beaten down. This is an insult to the memory of Reagan."

Really? You're talking that way about a genuine hero and American patriot, just because he's running as a Democrat?

How many Navy Crosses do you have?

The Former Jim Webb on Clinton:

"These acts resonate when one evaluates Bill Clinton's incessantly arrogant presidency, from the endless string of conscious and serious abuses of power to the "conversion" of White House furniture and china on his way out the door. For what we are seeing are the echoes of a pervasive elitism, from people who were taught when young that the laws that applied to their countrymen did not necessarily apply to them.

As one who shares Mr. Clinton's ethnic background, and whose family was not afforded the opportunity for higher education until this generation, it is irritating beyond words to see commentators repeatedly refer to his actions as "redneck" or typical of "white trash" behavior. Rednecks might hang a velvet picture of Elvis on their living room wall, but precious few would tolerate any sort of conduct that might demean the greatness of their country, much less take part in it. Check the casualty lists in any war. See who stands tall and salutes when the flag passes by. Note who wasn't sleeping in Lincoln's bedroom when Bill Clinton occupied the White House."

Do I think it's a RINO conspiracy to kneecap the most viable conservative in '08? Yes.

Zogby working for the GOP. Uh huh, sure? And other assorted conspiracy theories.

If Webb even dreams about beating Allen, he better wake up and apologize.

I think that the VA Dems want to knock Allen out now so that they will not need to face him in 08.

Webb disgraced his ancestors and dishonored himself by associating with the Party of Treason.

Nobody did this to Allen. He behaved in a stupid way.

Zogby is the LAST POLLING FIRM THAT SHOULD BE TRUSTED. Zogby stacks his polls for only on reason, to keep republican and independent voters disenchanted so they will not vote. There are many unimformed voters whom listen to what the news reports say on television or in print, so if the news shows polling against reublicans, they tend to believe where there is smoke, there is fire.

Zogby is the "used car salesman of polling."

Remember .. Gore was ahead of Bush and so was Kerry.

The dems have been skewing the numbers by 11-14% for months now .. and so this should be no surprise .. but it has no relation to the truth.

I'd be interested in what Rasmussen may be showing about the race as they have been much more accurate recently.

Rasmussen had Allen leading by 5 points (as of 1.5-2 weeks ago or so)
