ALBANY State Senator Ada Smith has been found guilty of harassment stemming from an altercation with a staffer.
The Queens Democrat was accused of throwing hot coffee in a staffer's face at her Albany office in March. She was also accused of pulling a hairpiece from the woman's head.
Smith was originally charged with misdemeanor assault, but the charged was reduced to harassment, a violation, in July.
Smith will have to pay a $250 fine and any medical
expenses for the former staffer, Jennifer Jackson. She will also have to enroll in anger management courses.
Jackson says she feels justice has been served. Smith has denied the allegations.
The incident wasn't Smith's first run-in with the law.
In 2004, she was fined for failing to obey a direct order from a police officer after improperly driving through a security checkpoint at Empire State Plaza. She was also accused of biting the hand of a Brooklyn police officer in 1998.
State Senator, Ada Smith, faces fresh legal turmoil. A claim that Smith threw a telephone at an aide in June is currently being investigated by the Albany County District Attorney's Office. The alleged incident comes in the wake of a pre-existing harassment charge.
I wonder if Senator Ada knows the former Congress women from Atlanta who assaulted a Capital Hill officer?
Typical Angry Liberal. Why are they so filled with hate. Liberal tolerance is a myth.
The dems seem to really have an anger problem, I remember when Hillary use to toss whitehouse government property at Blister Billy!
My God that's ugly.
Can you imagine, walking down the street,
and having that thing waddling down the
street coming at you??
Yikes, scary thought, too early to think like that
Barbara Mikulski's sister?
This kind of bullying arrogance will be Smith's downfall too.
........it's a little better that the Albany DA is involved.......but it's not nearly enough. She oughta be tossed out of office on her ample backside........
After reading the article... the photo met all my expectations.
Oughta ... but probably won't be. Her constituents probably view this as some sort of "badge of honor". Ironically, the staff member she assaulted, was trying to pay her a compliment.
just watch any movie or TV show, even commercials, demonstrate that it's ok for women to hit- it's even encouraged as a way for women to stop men from being "stupid" or "bigoted" or whatever N.O.W. thinks is bad behavior of men (in general). Also, notice how 90% of hollywood movies have a snotty black lady put the "star" in his/her place? I've even read black authors, who are sick of the stereotyped blacks as "mentors" (Morgan Freeman - great actor, but always mentoring), angry and snotty women in the supporting roles, etc.
I'm surprised that these people (angry democrat politicians) are never sued. If this lady happened to be a white business owner, Al Sharpton would have been there getting lawyers lined up to for the shakedown.
If you've ever watched CSPAN coverage of either house, you'll see who the dimwits are and wonder how they ever get elected. I think it has more to do with not being very bright and having a lot of power handed to them- they just don't know how to act "professionally".
The good thing is that their voters are starting to get smarter and vote these people out of office, instead of being led like sheep and voting by color/party. Hopefully, this lady will be gone like McKinney. That sort of angry diplomacy helps no one, especially their constituents.
It's funny that these are the same people, who always say that President Bush should have had more patience with Iraq....shown more "restraint"...
Amazing......maybe if she killed the poor girl, her constituents would give the woman a medal of honor?
Today's NY Post also weighed in (pun intended) on the catalogue of frauds pulled off by elected thieves, entitled "A FELON-RICH LEGISLATURE."

.....and New Yorkers will continue to elect this person, term and term after term......
A big Amen to that. To quote from Brother Dave Gardner, "The stork that brought her into the world oughta be arrested!"
I now remember that I also heard that from Bo Diddley.
