Fetuses harvested for cosmetic procedures: Repulsive new world of humansacrifice
Jewish World Review ^ | 25 August 2006 | Drs. Michael A. Glueck & Robert J. Cihak

Lawyers love to talk about the slippery slope, how you bend the rules a little or do something a little wrong and it leads inevitably to worse. But sometimes the slope turns into a precipice and you find yourself looking into the abyss. Use of fetal tissue for cosmetic purposes - especially fetal tissue conceived only for that purpose - is such precipitous plunge.

The scientific and medical community knew it would happen eventually but didn't know how soon. False hope for stem cells is cruel enough - but using stem cells from fetuses created for monetary gain to use for cosmetic purposes seems to us to cross the moral line.

In a News of the Day announcement on August 17, 2001, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons discussed a new abuse of stem cells.

Exclusive clinics in various worldwide locations are offering face lifts and cosmetic procedures using tissues from aborted fetuses and stem cells from human embryos. The cells are said to rejuvenate the skin.

The optimum age of the fetus is 8 to 12 weeks. Reportedly, women in poor nations are paid up to $200 to carry a baby until the appropriate time for "harvesting" the cells.

U.K. stem-cell researcher Colin Blakemore told the London Daily Mail that the therapies are "highly experimental" and could damage the reputation of legitimate researchers.

It seems distasteful, but thousands of women have already done it and it is organized by a seemingly respectable British clinic and carried out in Rotterdam, Holland, where rules regarding stem-cell therapies are less strict.

Many traditions say the soul enters the body with the first breath, and leaves with the last breath.

This may be true of many other traditions, but not of the Jewish or Christian tradition, which are based upon the Old and New Testaments.

In Genesis God breathed life.

In the spirit of Einstein it is worthwhile to investigate what the Bible actually says and what actually occurs at the moment of conception (9 months +/- before a human being takes his or her first "breath"). Therefore I hope that you will not lightly pass over my post to you, for I have investigated these matters, and in love have spent a great deal of time composing this reply to you. I choose to think that you really do find these matters worthy of investigation. As you so rightly quote in your tagline, "Condemnation without investigation is the height of ignorance."

At the very moment that the woman's egg cell is united with the man's sperm a new human life appears - complete with every single characteristic that makes that "zygote" a living, growing human being - and immediately, even before he or she (gender is already determined) implants in the wall of the uterus, he or she begins to grow at an amazing rate. That human being, at the very moment of conception, is in fact a new life - and only God "breathes" life - with a blood type unique to itself, in some cases differing from both mother and father, and hair and eye color and all sorts of propensities already 'programed' into that new life's every cell.

By reasoning upon the literal 'breath' aspect of life, not taking into account that God's "breathing" is the impartation/inspiration of a man's spirit, and his soul, you are illogically arguing that a person on a ventilator (during surgery, or after a stroke, for instance) is not actually human.

Each person's DNA is determined at conception when a sperm cell fertilizes an egg cell producing a zygote. ...The DNA of a person is identical throughout a person's body. All human cells (except red blood cells) contain DNA. The DNA is determined at conception and does change throughout the life of an individual. All persons formed from a unique zygote have a unique DNA structure.
DNA testing/Maternity & Paternity

Your blood type is actually established before you are born. At conception, one gene from your mother combines with one gene from your father, determining your individual blood type. ...In pregnancy, maternal-fetal incompatibility of blood types can occur.
Your Blood Type & Pregnancy

There are so many scriptures we could investigate and discuss - especially fascinating is the study of the Hebrew original words - but here is one part of one verse that I've chosen from among the rest, for it really should be all that is needed:

"The life is in the blood." ~Leviticus 17:14a

And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed [Hebrew: naphach] into his nostrils the breath of life [Hebrew: n@shamah]; and man became a living soul [Hebrew: nephesh].
Genesis 2:7

"[B]ecause the life [Hebrew: nephesh] of every creature is its blood. That is why I have said to the Israelites, 'You must not eat the blood of any creature, because the life [Hebrew: nephesh] of every creature is its blood; anyone who eats it must be cut off.'"
Leviticus 17:14

Jesus breathed his last breath and then "gave up the ghost".

Jesus called out with a loud voice, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit [Greek: pneuma]."
When he had said this, he breathed [Greek: ekpneo] his last.
Luke 23:46

I've spotted a typo (now) in the quotation from the Maternity & Paternity Web site:

The DNA is determined at conception and does change throughout the life of an individual.

Obviously that should read that the DNA determined at conception does not change throughout the life of an individual.

[ Yet Muslims (to their credit) oppose elective abortion... ]

Of course they do.. It has nothing at all to do the sanctity of life.. Part of Islam's plan is through baby factories(women) to breed themselves into massive voteing blocks in western countrys(as they are doing).. it has nothing at all to do with their God..

Liberal(democrat) women are fooled quite easily(by muslims), conservative ones rarely are.. And the democrat party is made up mostly of women..

Thank you, I agree 100% and in fact, your comments caused my hair to stand on end.

How does "life" occur with no soul present, as tkathy posits? What IS life? Life is the presence of the living soul.

"Ping."

I'm not really sure why I was pinged on this unless you were looking for a foil to take the position of the other side on this issue. My position on the previous issue does not translate over to this one and I doubt you will find anyone to accept that this is a legitimate use of anything that results in the death of a fetus, at least here.

Human life is the presence of the living soul, the neshama. The nephesh is the soul found in all living things, but humans have been instilled with a neshama, a living soul, not just a nephesh (NPHsh in transliterated Hebrew). [I deal with this distinction briefly in my coming book, by the way. The key Hebrew word from Genesis is NShMTh. Hebrew Transliterated: Genesis 2:7 VYYTShUr YHVH 'aLHYM 'aTh-H'aDM 'yPhUr MN-H'aDMH VYPhCh B'aPhYV NShMTh ChYYM VYHY H'aDM LNPhSh ChYH ... Yahweh God formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.]

I pinged you because of the comment you had made on a thread I posted to the same subject, wherein you said, "Sounds like a urban legend to me." I was hoping that this article from Drs. Michael A. Glueck & Robert J. Cihak, in Jewish World Review, citing the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons among others, would show you the truth.

"I pinged you because..."

Ahhh... Sorry, I was on a different but related thread yesterday and I assumed that was why.

I did some more research on the "cosmetics connection" and it does sound like an urban legend, sadly, it appears to be true.

Try again:

Wherein you said "Sounds like a urban legend to me."

Here JRO, Drs. Michael A. Glueck & Robert J. Cihak, and the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons say it is true, and the question remains, what will you do about it?

I would like to see proof that this is actually going on.
It seems very hard to believe something so monstrous could be true.

If so, it's pure evil...

"Let's pray to end abortion in our time!"

Well I'll cross my fingers and hope that the destruction of fetuses for cosmetic surgery is ended.
