Doesn’t anyone THINK? Of course it failed, just like the dual societies in the USA are doomed to fail. You can't have TWO communities, one speaking English and one Spanish and expect the two to merge into a cohesive group.

No 'democratic' style government can have two communities, one pledged to uphold the government and one pledged to destroy the government and expect a "happy ever after."

Yes, Virginia, it IS a clash of civilizations. It's also a clash of cultures. What we have today is not perfect, but it surely beats Sharia law, mutilation, and death at the hands of men whose minds are in the Seventh Century.

I've always been worried about that Olympic Mosque. It isn't just the security but the belligerent symbolism of it. Maybe the tide is turning.

No, we did not pass any anti-blasphemy laws after 7/7. Blair wanted them but our House of Lords (thankfully) rejected them twice and they failed in the commons.
