Actually, I kind of have to agree with you there :)
BTW, I remember the NIMBY/Disney war back in the 90's... Faugquier County has acquired another referemnce as F'U" County! All the land barons help the image. (for reference, see hwy 17 from I-66 to Clarke Co. Line)
Curious as to where in WV you're at?
Martinsburg...
Now really, let's all just remain calm and think this through. Isn't it really much safer sitting in the back of the bus if say there were a head on traffic accident or maybe some evil person threw a brick through the front window of the bus. Wouldn't the Black kids be safer in the back of the bus? Maybe that was the driver's motive. Come now, let's try to look for the good in everybody.
No, I think if a story seems outrageous on it's face (like, "Bush Rapes Woman" or "Hillary! Meets With Alien Leader") we are skeptical. It is VERY hard to believe, not that some white people are racist, but that someone could be so stupid as to be blatantly racist in this day and age.
Yeah, that was probably the motive for making blacks sit in the back of the bus. We should reinstitute the policy again, shouldn't we?
I have always heard that opinions are like a..holes. You are good at displaying your opinion!
Btw, while the Disney situation was being fought tooth and nail, someone else slipped in under the radar and built the Nissan Center which is a major musical amphitheatre seating thousands which backs up traffic for miles and miles all summer long. Yep, built that bad boy on a 2 lane road about 10 years ago and it STILL is on a 2 lane road. It's a right mess. At least Disney was going to put in road improvements!
I have been to Nissan P. It took us an hour and a half to get IN, and two hours to get OUT, for a show a little over an hour. I'd rather watch them on the tube!
BTW, How many days a week do you see somebody pulled over on 17? I see it just about every time I drive through...
Click it or ticket!
There is a cycle to the police; they are there about every 8 days. I set my car on cruise control and don't go a mile over 58.
Page, when I said"your example"I didn't mean your personal bio!Hope thats not what you infered by my comments.
Well,I agree. There is a real sense of entitlement going on today and it goes beyond the ghetto underclass.Maybe an"only the strong survive"ethic needs to be implememted.Sink or swim and then see ya in the next life if you can't make it in this one.
Not Maybe...
It is soon going to be too late, and there won't be anyone to turn out the lights! As a Christian, I believe in charity. I practice it.
As a taxpayer, I pay more than necessary, and I see no reason to CONTINUALLY subsidize charlatans and parasites. We saw a perfect illustration of the damage caused during the fiasco in NoLA. People wanderd withour direction because they never were taught how to fend for themselves.
What's worse, is the entitlement that FEMA has brought to us. When anything happens to anyone now, you can expect a smiling face with a checkbook. The checkbook gets bigger for FOW! I voted for the spendthrift, and his buds. It was bad enough that Reagan agreed to the EITC, but at least we got something for it, besides a overflowing barrel of Mexicans, and empty barrels of oil.
I live in WV, a little more than an hour from DC. If something happens there, the throngs will head west towards us. I hope they don't show up on my doorstep looking for a handout. My pantry is stocked, I have water stored, and I am locked and loaded! They will not be welcome here.
I am not worried about me or mine... God can sort out the rest of them!
WV is a truely beautiful state.Lots of windy back roads passing through villages out of another place and time.Being from California, the atmosphere in your state was quite a pleasant surprise.Loved the pic you put up earlier,BTW.
And let's not forget the "rape" of Tawana Brawley. I'm sure Sharpton won't.
:O)
